Y/N POV
"Up and at em!" I hear the distant sound of a familiar raspy voice call out. I don't stir, opting to pull the blankets tighter around myself instead.
Let's see how easily I can mess with Flo this morning....
"Oh for fucks sake. Come on, y/n!" I hear from much closer this time, right before I feel a pillow come crashing down onto my head.
Before she has the chance to pull the pillow back, I reach around quickly and clutch it in a vice grip before shooting my other hand out from beneath the covers and grabbing Florence's arm with it, yanking her down on top of me before she even knows what hit her.
"Y/n what the hell?! Let me go!" She yells. I'm not deterred in the slightest by her protest. I simply wrap both my arm around her and yank her down beside me, holding her firmly in place.
I shake my head against her, already laughing. "I've got a better idea. You stay right here in bed with me." I suggest, my voice tinged with a rasp of my own, still thick with sleep.
Florence huffs before I feel her turn her head towards mine. "Darling, as much as I would love that...and believe me...you have no idea how much I would love that...we both have to get up. We've got to walk out of this house in 15 minutes."
I attempt to shake the hair out of my face, but it's no use. Bedhead has truly always had it out for me. I both hear and feel Flo laughing at me, so I release my hold on her to free my hands to swipe the errant strands out of my face. She beats me to it though, gently sweeping my hair away from my eyes. "There's my girl. Good morning, darling." She says softly, her bright eyes shining down into mine.
I can't help the smile that forms on my face. Despite being one of the most passionately forward people I know, soft Florence will always one of my favorite versions of her. I can't help but think it's the version she reserves specifically for me.
"Ok well now I'm definitely not getting out of this bed. Not when you're looking at me like that. Stay with me. Right here." I say, matching the tone of my voice to the softness of her expression.
"Y/nnnnnnn..." Florence all but whines.
"Mmm. Yea, no. Definitely not getting up. Not with you looking at me like that and saying my name like that." I counter, snuggling my head down into the soft pillow beneath me. I keep my eyes open though, still trained on Florence. She's clearly fighting a war with herself.
Florence leans down and presses the softest of kisses against my forehead. "I love you more than life itself but you're playing dirty, darling. Now what do I have to do to get you out of this bed and ready to go? I'll give you literally anything." She offers.
You.
I shake my head once again. "No deal. All I want is to stay in this bed with you. That is my request." I say in my most professional voice.
Florence lets her head fall back. She's clearly losing her internal battle.
Checkmate.
"All right then." She says finally, her eyes landing on mine. "But would you like to inform Gran of why she'll need to find her own way here from the airport, or shall I?"
My eyes go wide at the reminder.
Oh shit! Today's the premiere...which means we've gotta go get Gran...which means...shit I've gotta get up!
