The door revealed a red-haired student wearing their signature school uniform, red glasses, and headphones. Sharp features adorned his face, from fox-like eyes to the smirk he wore. He didn't seem surprised to see Ayato at all.
Ayato, on the other hand, was surprised to meet anyone but another student.
The man stepped aside, gesturing for him to enter. "Come in. Make yourself at home."
"Thanks?" Ayato replied uncertainly as he walked into the small room and looked around. At first glance, the room seemed pretty dark, the only light source coming from the countless screens. Computers littered the desk in the middle of the room, accompanied by a small night lamp and sheets of paper with scribbles on them. The walls, barely visible due to the light, appeared to be decorated with cut-outs from articles and newspapers.
Everything about this room made Ayato even more suspicious, wondering why a student from his school would have access to all this equipment. He turned around, waiting for an introduction from the unknown person, as the red-haired man proceeded to sit down at his desk and look at him.
"I see you've received my message. Thank you for coming on such short notice."
"There wasn't much choice," Ayato curtly replied.
The red-haired male hummed, crossing his legs as he laid back. "Did you have any difficulty reaching the room?"
"No, it was fine," Ayato responded as he thought back to the encounter with Kizano. "I didn't even know about these halls."
"No one does," the male continued, glancing at the door. "These hallways aren't visited by anyone except for the teachers occasionally passing by. After today, you can count on that drama club boy as well."
"Sunobu-san?" Ayato recalled. "He followed me here."
"I know," the other chuckled. "I heard about it through the door."
So, he was there after all. "Well then, there's no point in beating around the bush now, right?"
"Ah yes, the message I sent you," the red-haired man nodded, although he looked a bit amused. "I heard about your friend's problem, and I think I might be of help to you."
"I don't need your help," Ayato firmly stated, disliking the fact that he knew. "And I don't see what's in it for you."
"Amusement, that's one thing. I'm bored as hell at the moment, and any kind of drama will bring some amusement to this bleak school life," the guy admitted.
Ayato narrowed his eyes, "And the other thing?"
There was a pause, and then the man continued. "Have you ever heard of Info-kun?"
"Yeah, somewhat," Ayato explained. "An urban guy who hacks people and sells their dirty secrets to the highest bidder."
Clearly taking pride in the remark, the man smirked. "That's just the tip of the iceberg. I sell a lot more than just blackmail."
Ayato barely concealed his surprise and suspicion as he looked at the man. "Are you trying to tell me that you're Info-kun? Do you really expect me to believe that?"
The man raised an eyebrow as if asking him if he really meant that before he gestured to the computer and clicked some keys. On cue, a notification sound from his phone rang throughout the room, and Ayato opened the device to see a new app on his home screen.
"I've installed an app on your phone. Take a look," the guy, who he assumed to be Info-kun, said with a nonchalant tone.
"How did you do that?" Ayato demanded.
