2 Chapters in one day! This is a first! In case ya'll haven't noticed, I struggle with motivation issues 😅 anyway, enjoy reading! Also, I just finished reading the most amazing book series ever, so go read it! It's called Ottilie Colter and the 3 books are the best I've ever read, and that's saying something.

The sun was too bright for Claire's liking. It was burning her arms, making walking in the open even worse then it usually was. In the Lonewoods forest, she had packed up her stuff last night and began her journey to Thunder Moons pack. It was only then did she remember how long the journey was. Claire hadn't been there in over 11 months, but even then she shouldn't have forgotten how long to journey was from her favoured spot in Lonewoods.
I wish I could help. Nami sighed in her head.
Nah, it's fine, unless you can make the sun go away.
Now that would be a helpful power. Her wolf stopped talking and closed the link, leaving Claire alone with her thoughts again.
She was walking towards a town called Wolfen, which was quite ironic considering the fact that Thunder Moons pack was only a few kilometres away from it, and the town was populated by many lone Werewolves. She was still about 50km away from it though, and there was only spare trees that could provide little shade.
Claire sighed, annoyed with the heat. Even though she had the strength to carry her heavy bag, and the energy to probably run the whole way, she had no immunity to the heat, and considering the fact that she had been living in the Lonewoods forest for years, and the times she visits the packs it's usually pretty shady, the sun was bothering her.
Glancing around to make sure there definitely wasn't any patches of trees around, she started to run. Within half an hour, and about 10kms covered, she was already covered in sweat, but she pushed on, ignoring the feeling of slight dizziness, she was used to it.
After 2 hours of nonstop running, and Wolfen in sight, she could have had a bath with the amount to sweat she had. Pausing at the entrance of the town, she drank half of her 1 litre bottle. After she had re-packed her bag- her water bottle had been at the very bottom- she headed into the simple, yet nice, town of Wolfen. As soon as she entered the town, the smell of werewolves entered her nose, and closer she got to the centre of town, the more the werewolves looked at her, and she could feel their gazes on her back. This was one of the times she wished she could just be a normal wolf. In some of the packs she had stayed in, some of the lower ranked wolves had submitted to her, much to her disliking, due to the smell of power she emitted. Many thought she was of Alpha blood, but her argument was that she didn't know. Nami hated others submitting to her- she wasn't really meant to be a leader, and neither was Claire. Another reason to 'thank' the people who had experimented on her.
Wolfen wasn't very large, and only had the population of about 2000 people, and 3rd of that being werewolves, but it had what it needed.
Claire headed to a small Motel in the centre of town, called 'The Sleeping Wolves." She had stayed there before, to rest after her long walk, ready to head to Thunder Moon in the morning. Heading inside, she was greeted by a happy Human.
Way too happy. Nami grumbled in her head.
Agreed.
She managed to give a small smile back.
"How can I help you today?" The receptionist said cheerfully, her dimples showing.
"Just one room for one night please." Claire said quietly, her voice emotionless.
"Of course!" The lady said, giving her room keys. "Is this your first time staying here?"
She shook her head, a small smile playing on her lips. This ladies happiness was infectious. "I have been here 1 or twice before."
"Oh okay! I'll look you up in the system, it saves you from filling out the form. "Name?"
"Daya Knight." She responded. Daya was her name for Thunder Moon pack, and she had signed off her form for this hotel with that name.
The lady hummed as she searched up her name on the computer. Soon, her face lit up again. "Ah! Daya Hunter, 21, last stay here 12 months ago?"
"That's right." Claire nodded again, forcing her small smile away.
"Okay, you're at room 3! What time would you like to check out?"
"Before Midday." If the lady caught onto her nervousness, she didn't show it, and kept a big smile on her face.
"See you then!"
"Thank you." She felt like grinning at the lady, but she just stuck to a small smile.
"I'm Lilah by the way!"
"It's nice to meet you Lilah." Claire kept her smile on and walked towards her room. She opened the door with a click and immediately threw her bag onto the floor, then jumped onto the bed face first, groaning in exhaustion.
Oh, c'mon, it wasn't that bad. Nami rolled her eyes.
You didn't even see it! Claire protested.
Nami huffed but didn't respond.
You know I'm right, She teased.
There was no response, but Claire just laughed.
It was about Midday now, so she had 24 hours to do what she wanted. She was slightly nervous to head to the pack, a bit more than usual, which she thought was strange. She decided it was because of the new Alpha- she had never met him before, and didn't know if he would drive her away. But Alpha Leif had said he would tell his son, and she had trusted him.
She shook herself, deciding that no matter who he was, she wouldn't let Alpha Leo bring her down. Claire would just leave if he didn't want her there.
She felt tiredness weighing her down, so she adjusted herself to sit more comfortably. Staring at the ceiling, she willed herself to go to sleep. After 10 minutes she sighed, knowing that it probably wouldn't happen, sleep never came easy for her, as Nami always had to be awake in her head to sense any danger.
Let me help CC. Nami said gently.
Claire sighed, and agreeing to what her wolf said, she felt her vision slip away.
