The one thing that Madhavi loved immensely was Lord Krishna. Her birthday was in the forth coming December; she wanted one thing-only: to see Krishna.
She prayed to Him each and every day with all of her heart, asking Krishna to come and see her on that special day, wishing she saw him and he felt his divinity through her.
It was on her birthday morning when Madhavi woke up feeling excitement bubbling inside. The whole day of celebration was extended through the evening with her family and friends. They sang and danced and shared laughter. But inside her heart, Madhavi was missing Krishna so longingly that she longed for his presence more than anything else.
As night approached, with stars twinkling in the sky, Madhavi climbed to the roof of her house. She gazed at the numerous stars in the sky and hoped that Krishna would take heed of her pleas.
"Krishna, come and meet me," she murmured with a longing and devotion that touched the sky. Tears welled within her eyes as she viewed the starry sky seeking Krishna's presence.
It was a still moment. On the rooftop, something miraculous occurred. A slight breeze caressed her face and smelled of flowers. Madhavi sensed a warmth and comfort surrounding her, much like the presence of someone special close by.
Madhavi turned to see the soft light take form into the figure of a deity. It was Krishna, with a benevolent smile across his lips.
"'Madhavi, I have come," said Krishna's soft and soothing voice in her heart. "Your devotion has touched me deeply. I am always with you."
Bathed in deep joy and gratitude, Madhavi fell down on her knees and wept tears down her face. She knew she was surrounded by the divine hand of Krishna, and love filled her heart with peace.
Although Krishna disappeared in the same moment as his arrival, in Madhavi's heart was a sense of happiness and contentment. She knew Krishna listened to her prayers; he was there for her on her special day.
A heart filled with devotion and love, Madhavi grasped that moment very close to her heart and knew Krishna's love and presence would forever sit in her heart.
