Morse was watching the small mouse, he wanted to try and catch it, his memories of what his Da said about killing them while flying was coming back to him, to make it quick and painless. But he could not fly so he had to figure out how to catch the mouse. He tyred jumping from a fallen log but just ended up missing the mouse completely. That's when he heard wing beats, his kind were known well for there hearing, able to hear a mouses heartbeat a league away. He started trying to triangulate the sound, and then saw them. They were going fast, it looked like a barn owl and a elf owl. "Help!" Morse screeched, but they did not hear him. It was starting to become Deep Gray, He went to a bush he found and started drifting off asleep. He was having a nightmare of his parents, and where there bones were left at. He started screeching when something hit him on the head and woke him up. Morse looked to his left and was startled to see a owl right in his face. "Don't worry lad." The strange owl said to him, he did not know the kind of owl he was. "I heard you screeching from my burrow, why are you on the ground young'un? You don't even seem to have any flight feathers yet!" The owl said, Morse looked at him for a second, and told him what happened to his parents. "I'm.... I'm so sorry to hear that. come to my burrow, i have a fresh vole in there." The owl said. "Wait whats your name?" Morse asked. "Call me Oats." And he started walking off to his burrow.
