I ran as fast as I could, hearing everyone else's footsteps around me. I could hear it behind us.
"Time?!" Ashlyn called out.
"8 minutes!" Logan yelled back.
We continued to run to the gate, faster than any of us had ever ran before. Everyone rushed in as fast as they possibly could.
"Close the gate, close the gate!" Tyler yelled as he ran through the gate doors.
Everyone clutched their weapons as Ashlyn slammed the button, watching as the gate whirred and slammed shut before it could get to us. Everyone relaxed, sighing of relief until banging was heard from outside. We all headed to the bus, where we relaxed when the banging suddenly stopped.
"Ah, the banging stopped." Ashlyn said with a sigh of relief.
"It probably gave up or someth-" Tyler stopped sentence as he looked at the front of bus.
Everyone turned their heads to see a phantom, right there in the doorway of the bus. Everyone ran to the back of the bus, trying to open the back door.
"Can we open the back door?"
"It's blocked!"
"W-what do we do??"
"Die?"
"AIDEN!"
The phantom lunged at the seven of us, as everyone screamed in fear as it ran towards us, when a beeping was heard.
Logan's watch.
Time was up.

I woke back up in my bed, hyperventilating from what happened in my dream.
I heard a buzz from my phone on my nightstand where I reached over to grab it. It was the group chat.

Everyone oki?
You
yes but no.

Aiden
lol that was close

Taylor
Physically yes

Tyler
Mentally no.

Ben
Did anyone finish the homework?

Ashlyn
Screw it.

I walked to the bus stop where I got on the bus and sat with Ashlyn, Aiden and Ben being behind us.
"Last night was rough, huh?" Aiden said, tired yet still energetic as always.
"Is it ever not?" I responded, tired and slightly annoyed.
Aiden rustled through his bag and pulled out the homework assignment.
"I finished the homework and Ash already copied." He said, handing me the assignment.
"Thanks." I replied with a warm smile, giving him a nod as a 'thank you' as I started to copy down the answers.

We got to class and walked in with the same tired expression and matching eye bags.
"Good mor-" The teacher trailed off as the four of us walked in with the same gloomy look on our faces.
I think me and Aiden also creeped him out a little, as we both had an eerie grin on our faces as we walked in.
I sat down in my seat and put my head down for a little, tuning out whatever the teacher was saying.
"Lili!" Aiden whispered to me.
"Hm?" I said, lifting my head.
"Here." He said, tossing me a 3x3 Rubik's cube. "To stay awake."
I caught the cube, nodding and smiling as a 'thank you' to him.
I tried to solve it as the time passed by. I heard the bell ring as I turned the cube one last time, solving the whole thing. As I got up, I gave the cube back to Aiden as I met with the group.
"Ashlyn!" Aiden yelled out. "We're all eating lunch together. Y'know, to talk about 'stuff'." Meaning we were going to talk about the phantoms. Yay.

Boy, are we in for a hell of a ride.
