"What the hell did I hit?" The nineteen-year-old clutches his head, an alarm ringing in his ears, looking through what was left of his windshield he sees a figure on the ground. "Oh no." Damien gets out of the car as fast as he can, vertigo settling in, bile rising in his throat making him hunch over emptying his stomach's contents. Finally using the car door for support, he stands in front of the body, the guy not looking much older than he was, he reaches down shaking his shoulder, he doesn't move, he shakes him harder opening his eyes, dropping his head back down when he sees his pupils completely blown out leaving a small ring of iris. Someone walks in their shoes crunching on the broken glass everywhere.

"Oh my god!" He shouts in surprise immediately going over to the two a phone grasped in his chubby hand, "Well don't just stand there looking stupid, get him up!" Damien complies not wanting to make things worse, he catches the man's name on his tag: Stuart, and by the looks of it he's a manager, Damien barely gets him up and sits him in a sitting position, he turns to Stuart the growing pit in his stomach threatening to swallow him whole, he waits until the man is off the phone.

"Look I'm really sorry, I fell asleep behind the wheel and I nev-" Stuart cuts him off.

"Shut up kid, you're lucky he isn't dead." Damien hangs his head, waiting for the police to arrive an ambulance pulls up shortly behind, Paramedics place the kid on a stretcher, and a police officer makes Damien get in the back of the car to ride with them, he keeps his mouth shut the whole time, looking up when the car stops outside the hospital, the officer makes eye contact with him through the rearview mirror.

"How old are you?"

"Nineteen." The officer looks at him again, taking in his messy, greasy hair and dark eye bags.

"What exactly happened back there?"

"I fell asleep." He responds simply.

"You fell asleep?" The officer's eyes narrow. Damien shrinks into his seat.

"Yes?' His voice cracks, making him wince.

"Look I'll level with you here I have a daughter about your age, were you on something?"

"What no! My parents would kill me." He crosses his arms almost pouting like a child.

"You still live with them?" He nods, "You know they probably won't be too happy about all the damage you caused correct?"

"Yes." The cop sighs. No more words are said as he's led inside the hospital, he finds out the guy he hit was named Jesse Fawn. Damien thinks about the name more slightly frowning as he feels the officer nudge him making him stop.

"He's conscious but be quiet." Damien nods shuffling into the room. The cop doesn't follow, though Damien doesn't mind,

"Oh, you're the moron my parents want to sue?" Jesse's voice was very high-pitched and whiney, making Damien grimace. "Damn-"

"Not taking offense to that, uh yep that's me, I'd really appreciate it if they didn't though. I'm broke dude." That gets a laugh out of the other teen.

"I mean- they only will if I take you to court." Damien swallows nervously, picking at his nails.

"Are you going too?" He shrugs to the best of his ability, face contorting in pain.

"Depends." Damien stares at him for a moment, eyebrow raised.

"On what?" Jesse thinks for a moment clearly thinking on the spot.

"Why did you crash into the store?"

"I fell asleep behind the wheel I was going for new bass strings. I don't even remember falling asleep." he sighs wishing he had explained that to the cop, Jesse stares at him momentarily, and Damien notices his eyes involuntarily twitching.
