Ryder Accardi (flashback, two days ago)

I ended up waking up randomly in the middle of the night, I turned in my bed groaning deeply. My eyes then slowly opened to complete darkness in my room, I could hear soft snores next to me and my eyes looked over at the figure of the woman in her cream gown.

Usually I would sleep the night through, unless I had to take a piss or have a smoke on my balcony. But right now, I didn't need to do any of that. It was weird to me that I randomly woke up, as I didn't do it much.

I carefully moved the blanket off my body and maneuvered myself to get up without waking Skye, I stretched out my arms a bit hearing my muscles crack. I then left my bedroom, cracking the door shut behind me.

Walking down the hallway, I made my way down my spiral stairs. It was quiet, too quiet for my liking. The dogs must have been asleep, but they were usually always up they didn't know when to take a chill down.

I felt a cold breeze as I made it to the first floor, looking around my eyes stopped at my back door which was cracked open. I narrowed my eyes, cautiously walking over to it and I placed my hand on the handle sliding the door closed and locking it. I paused for a moment, listening carefully but it was quiet.

Something was wrong, but I couldn't figure out what yet. But I stayed on guard as I made my way to the kitchen, turning on the light. What I saw next made my blood boil, but it also made me nervous as I realized someone was able to get into my home. I didn't understand how, I had guards guarding this place 24/7, a bomb ass security and alarm system. Clearly not bomb enough to whoever the fuck would have the two balls to break into my home, especially while my woman was here.

I clenched my jaw, looking at the glass fruit bowl that was shattered on the floor, oranges, apples and bananas scattered, some of the cabinets were opened.

Whoever did this must have been fucking hungry, cause what the fuck is in my kitchen that's so valuable? Besides my Twinkie's?

I walked over to the cabinets taking a good look inside them before closing them back, it seemed like nothing was stolen which was weird. Why break in to mess up someone's kitchen? Something was really off, and i'd be sure to get to the bottom of it.

Grabbing the broom, I began to sweep up the broken glass pieces and toss it in a separate bag instead of my trash can.

I stored the trash bag, outside of my house. Putting it in the green bin. I shut the lid, and went back inside to wash my hands. A scream from upstairs had me halting in my steps, and I quickly ran upstairs back to my bedroom.

I entered the bedroom and looked around, quickly running over to Skye as she sat upright in the bed. Her eyes opened wide, and her breathing was heavy. I placed a hand on her shoulder and made her look at me as I settled myself down next to her on the bed.

"What's wrong? What happened?". I said sternly, staring at her in her eyes. She looked at me, placing a hand on my shoulder for some sort of comfort i'm guessing and she let out a deep breath.

"S-something hit the window, Ryder". She whispered, her eyes glancing over at the dark window and back at me. I rubbed her shoulder gently, leaning forward to kiss her forehead. "I'll go check it out, take a deep breath". I ran a hand through her hair gently, comforting her. And I waited a bit for her to calm down before getting up from the bed, I grabbed the metal piece from behind my pillow turning the safety off and cocking it back.

I looked back at Skye before leaving the room and going downstairs, I turned on the lights in the backyard unlocking the sliding door stepping out. I made my way around to my window cautiously, holding my gun steady in my hand as I aimed it around at nothing in particular, yet.
