"You guys honestly haven't changed." Shoko sighs, putting a cigarette in her mouth. As she grabs the lighter, she continues speaking, "They said they wanted another interview with you."
The two boys looked up slowly, and glanced at each other.
"Why though? It wasn't a great interview." Satoru murmured, careful not to make her annoyed.
"Well, since you revealed so much, they're wanting another episode where you guys reveal everything. You could have just lied, but now there's an uproar in your fans. They either stopped being your fans or supporting you even more, wanting more drama."
"Drama?" Suguru asked. "All I want to do is support my family. I don't need to work with Gojo here.. right?" Although the name 'Gojo' was like speaking another language, he had no choice but to say it. They weren't best friends anymore after all.
"Well do it, or I will leak the photos I took of you guys-"
"Okay!" They both jumped up, desperately trying to not make Shoko reveal everything in front of Mei Mei, who in return raised her eyebrows, slightly curious.
"We'll do it." Gojo said. Even though they were towering over her, she still had the most power, blackmail-wise. Shoko can be scary.
"Okay. Now talk everything out." Shoko replied, shoving them into the room next door. She gave them a cheeky glance then slammed the door. "No coming out until you've solved everything out for the interview!" She shouted before they could even open their mouths. After a few seconds of processing, they turned to look at each other. Damn, this is awkward. They both thought. Satoru was the first to move, he decided to sit in his chair. He sat like he always did, legs spread and disrespectful.
Suguru followed suit soon enough, taking a seat on the other side of Satoru.
They sat in silence, avoiding eye contact. They shouldn't fight now, Shoko would be furious. They would be working together for a couple more days, or even weeks, after all'.
"Uhm." Satoru spoke out first. "So? No more fighting because we need to work together." Geto nodded along.
Now the silence filled the room once again.
They had much to talk about sure, like what they did after they broke up. How they've been doing, or even what they're up to this weekend. But instead, Gojo asked a very dumb question:
"Why did you break up with me?" And before Geto could reply with 'our careers are more important than us,' Gojo spoke once more. "I know your career might be more important than me, but i know it's not true. I need the real reason." And Geto looked up at him, to his ex with an unreadable face, yet his tone told him everything. Gojo was always the more confident one, the one who could conceal his emotions better. But he always showed his emotions, his true feelings to Geto. And he still does.
—
"Suguru, have you lost weight?" A voice calls out to him, making Geto jump. Geto ponders for a while if he should tell him, but he decides to hide it. Satoru needs to focus on his career.
"No, it's just the summer stress. I'll be fine."
Satoru obviously spotted something wrong with Geto those past couple of.. days? Weeks? He couldn't even tell. They hadn't really fallen out, yet he knew something had changed with them.
Suguru.. distanced himself between the three of them. And Satoru noticed. But he didn't say anything.
—
He regrets that so much now.
Satoru knew he should've said something. He knew he should've helped his suffering boyfriend.
