Today was the first day of her new job, she almost could not believe that she was hired. This was one of the most difficult applications she has ever done, she has worked before for high-ranked people, and she was one of the best at what she did. For her working as a chef came out almost effortless, she made food that people loved. She couldn't help but feel nervous since she had heard terrible rumors about the Alpha family of that pack. Even the people that were interviewing her were apprehensive, for her It did not matter, she was going to do her best and hope that would be enough.

She hugged herself along with her bag nervously walking to the car. Sitting behind the wheel she tried to remain calm, maybe it was because it was the first day she taught to herself. A silly feeling overtook her, as if she was insecure which was not even possible, she worked before for people like him, so it was no news for her.

Somehow she felt so tiny as they entered his massive state, there were packs of every size, but she had never been to a place like that, somehow the house she was going to work was on the top of a mountain full of wildlife, she could feel the difference in the air as they reached the top. The place seemed high but as the car stopped and the driver got out she could see the biggest waterfall she had ever seen.

She was well-acquainted with numerous locations across the United States and even abroad, but never before had she encountered a place as enchanting as this. It was now clear to her why there was such a multitude of people vying for this job opportunity. The car came to a halt behind a massive rock, obstructing the view of the breathtaking waterfall. The entire area was encased by towering cliffs, but it was meticulously safeguarded with an array of cameras. As she strolled in front of the car, she caught sight of several other houses, or rather opulent mansions, sprawled along the entire mountainside. Each of these residences somehow boasted a view of this extraordinary place. She turned to face the house, her eyes beholding sights she had never before witnessed. The house was colossal, standing tall and imposing. It resembled a rustic country estate, something straight out of the movies, but somehow was a mansion. It screamed money. It stood as the pinnacle of grandeur atop the mountain, with vast stretches of land visible beyond its rear. Never in her wildest dreams had she imagined herself working in such a place. It was an entirely different realm, and her anxiety began to consume her, causing her breath to quiver. Summoning every ounce of courage within her, she embarked on the path towards the entrance. Before she could even set foot on the porch, the door swung open, revealing a man who stood before her. Everything inside her screamed to her that he was the owner of the place, something in the way he carried himself, the way he stayed in the door and examined her, studying her figure. Almost as if he was trying to smell her, but she doubted that.

Deciding it was best she said something, this could be a high-ranked wolf looking for an intruder, she did not know.

" Hi, I am Claire." before she could finish her sentence he said.

"Yes, I was waiting for you."

The way he said it as if she had made him wait, stirred something inside her. Who was he, anyway? The boss? She looked at him, trying to comprehend. She could sense his energy, and he held a high rank among the wolves. He was tall and intimidating, his eyes a storm, gray as a cloudy sky. Surprisingly, his dark hair didn't give off a dark vibe. But from his cocky smirk, she could tell he was a bit of a jerk.

"I'm here for the chef position. Are you my boss?" she asked bitterly, hoping he would say no.

Why did her day have to start like this? The drive here had been so pleasant. Maybe he was just the beta or an important member.
