This story is based on the game of the same name. You do not need to know the game in order to read this story. In fact, it may be better if you do not. I am writing this under the assumption that you have never played the game. If you have played Starfield, please do not expect this story to follow the events of the game exactly. I'd say a good 75% of the game's plot, characters, world, and themes have been altered to fit this narrative.

I do not like following a pre-existing media's plot beat-by-beat because I believe it removes tension and limits my creativity. For that reason, my version of Starfield will be vastly different from the original work, hence why it may be better if you never played or even heard of the game.

That being said, the characters, world, plot, etc. originally belong to Bethesda studios and I am in no way claiming these pre-existing sources of media as my own. The same applies to the BTS members in this story.
