II. LIFE

Ring. Ring. Ring.

My phone vibrates. I look at the screen and can't help but notice who the call was from.

My not-so-fatherlike Father.

Just what I needed of course.
I pick up the call not because I want to but because I have to.

"Xavier." My father began with his voice oozing with an alarming amount of sweetness.

"Broderick" I answer.

"I'm your father my dear. So, I'd suggest you would refrain from coming onto a first name basis."
    Was the reply from the other side.

"Right. Father. Please speak , would you?"  I said in an extremely polite tone.

"Xavier. I gave you this life. Learn to be grateful."

Here we go again.

"Xavier you should learn. Learn. Learn. Learn. Damn it. I've raised you since your mother died and this is how you react when I call you and this is the manner in which you speak to me?"
I swear you could hear the fury in his voice.

"Do you hear me Xavier?" Screamed Broderick.

I stayed silent.
               Sometimes , staying silent is a better option.

"Xavier , Answer me." Uh-oh.
Maybe silence was the wrong move.
And I'm damn sure the whole Europe- or wherever the fuck he is- can hear his disgusting voice out loud.

"Yes, Dad. I can , very well indeed, hear you."
I could manage to utter these very few words.

"So, If you could listen to my instructions for once in your life , I'd suggest that you take down Nezzera Salvatore."

"Nezzera what?" I questioned.

"Nezzera Salvatore."
Okay, Hold up, What?

" Okay okay okay. Let me get this straight. You want me to defeat  Nezzera Salvatore ? "

" Yes indeed , Xavier." My father said as if taking down Nezzera had been his lifelong dream.

" And how am I supposed to do that ?" I inquire.

" By using your brain Xavier. You are the leader of a mafia not a local gang. "

             BEEP. BEEP. BEEP

A message popped on my screen that read Call ended.

Broderick ended the call. Of course.

Ugh. Whatever.

How hard could it be to take down that mystery "Nezzera Salvatore" person ?

I have to meet that lady. And end her. But first , I have to find out her details.

This should be easy.
