I awoke in a sweat. The night light in my room flickered. Yes, I know it's babyish to have a night light, but I haven't quiet gotten over my fear of the dark. My alarm clock display tells me it's 3 in the morning. I get up and walk over to my window. Darkness. I couldn't see a damn thing. I walk over to my desk lamp and turn it on. Partially blinded I make my way to the bathroom, wondering what woke me. After taking a piss, I start to go back to my room. Before I even make it out of the bathroom I hear it. A thump. It came from my backyard.
