I ran through the city dragging my younger brother with me.
"Onee-chan where are we going? What's happening?" He asked as people around us died.
"Anywhere but here." I said running in different directions every time I saw a person in a cloak. I kept running until I found a place no one would see my little brother.
"Stay here and don't come out until a human comes for you okay Michael?" He nodded and I gave him a kiss on the cheek. "Keep fighting, keep living." I said before running off as I heard footsteps coming this way. They won't ever hurt my little brother or find him.
I run down alleys, down the streets that were littered with dead human bodies and all while trying not to get caught by those... those- "vampires." I ran straight in a pink haired vampire. "Oh you lasted longer running then others did, impressive... Come with me." She said extending her hand towards me. I hastily took it and she took me to a group of other kids under the age of 13.

After taking us to the vampire world and dressing us in livestock clothes they made us go through a registration thing. I stood behind two boys, a blonde with blue eyes called Mikaela Hyakuya and another guy with black hair and green eyes named Yūichirō Hyakuya. "Next." One of the vampires asked. "Sage Ichinose." I said simply and they let me pass.
Soon after I thrown into some place where they took some of our blood, then gave us this horrible drink. And it continued like that for four years,when I was just 7.
-Four Years Later-
One day after they took our blood I bumped into a blonde boy with blue eyes. "Im so sorry I wasn't watching where I was going." I said and the blonde just smiled, "Its fine, I'm Mikaela Hyakuya, and you?"
Mikaela... Hyakuya.. I name that name...
I must of been taking a lot of time to answer because he was already sitting down in the steps looking at me. "Oh I'm no sorry I'm Sage Ichinose, pleasure to meet you Mikaela." I said with a smile. "Same here-" he was cut off by another person with black hair and green eyes. "Agh!" He yelled smashing the nasty drink they gave us in his hand making it spill out. "Stop wasting it, do you want to get sick?" Mikaela asked.
The guy with black hair came and sat down next to him, "it's nasty I won't drink this crap." He said making Mikaela sigh.
"You need to stop being so picky."
"And you need to quit doing what the fangs tell you to."
"I don't think it's all that bad, to be honest"
"Seriously?"
"At least we're alive, and more importantly we get to live with our family." Mikaela said standing up and throwing away his drink. "Don't you think that's enough?"
They are family... Lucky I had to leave my only family to keep him safe... And the other one...
"What's going on here?" That voice got me out of my thoughts and I look up to see a vampire ready to kill the black haired kid and Mikaela trying to stop it. The voice came from one of those nobles. The vampire about to kill the black haired guy threw him on the ground and walked away. I ran up to the black haired guy and kneeled in front of him. "Are you okay?" I asked as he coughed. "Yeah.."
"And will that girl and the trouble maker be joining us?" The noble asked.
"Like hell-" I covered his mouth and so did Mikaela. "No they're shy." Mikaela said with a smile. "Oh okay. The noble said before walking away. And to save you all from the argument afterwards, let's say they let me come over for dinner and since I don't really have a home, to stay there for the night too.
-after dinner-
To my surprise they had good food and I'm not sure how they were able to afford it. I was now laying by Yu the black haired guy's name. Me and him were both awake though I look like I was sleep, Mika came back later that night. And eat alongside Yu who didn't touch his food at diner. They talked about something's and soon we were all sneaking around at night heading to the exit of the vampire realm.
Everything was going well to say the least until the noble from earlier chattering any hope of escape. "I was waiting for you pathetic lambs." Everyone had a shocked and scared look on their faces. "That expression.."
"The expression humans make when their hopes suddenly shattered to pieces. That's why I never grow tired of playing this game." The noble said smirking. "
"Game?.." Mika looked down at the map
"Was this all just trap.." Yu said shocked and angered.
The Nobel soon ran past them both grabbing the little girl and draining her of her blood. I was was to the right of Mika and in total shock. Even more hen he killed everyone else but me, Yu and Mika. "Sage! Snap out of it and run with away with Yu!" Mika said grabbing the gun from Yu's hand and running at the noble who now stood a couple feet away from us. Mika ran up to the noble shooting at him but to no avail.
"Ah ah ah Mikaela, your blood tasted so good." The noble taunted Mika. And before I know it I'm running towards Mika trying to save him from the vampire but I was to late. The vampire pierced his claws though Mika and then me before Yu shot him in the side of the head. "Yu run at least one of us has to survive." Me and Mikaela said as we bleed to death.
Soon after convincing Yu to leave me and Mika laid there looking up at the roof. Vampire ran up to us and we're ready to kill us. "Hold it!" Two voices yelled stopping them. "Those human belong to us." Both a male and female voice said.
"Her m-majesty.. And the first progenitor?" One said shocked.
"W-what are you doing here?" The other asked.
"Spilling So much of this delicious smelling blood. They're both probably done for."
"Well?-" I couldn't hear anything else as black dots filled my vision. Last thing I remember before darkness consumed me was the feeling of something warm on my lips and a ironic taste going down my throat.
"Arata Koyanagi what are you-"
Darkness... Who knew that was the end of my human life.
