It's a beautiful evening. You're sitting in a sheltered spot on the rooftop of the tallest building in your school, Aoba Johsai, enjoying some free time after the 2nd-year final sem exams are over. You found more time for yourself, reading books and listening to music were taking a huge part of your day.
As you sit on the rooftop reading the book, you notice a movement in your peripheral vision and realize it's indeed someone you know. Without thinking much about it, you stay focused on the book. You're so deeply engrossed in the reading that you don't even hear his footsteps approaching. When someone pokes your shoulder, you look up but can't see the face as that person is blocking the sun. It seems like he called your name, but you didn't hear. He sits beside you on the rooftop, and you recognize the face of the famous, 'god's favorite', THE Oikawa Tooru.

Oikawa Tooru, the great king, the best setter, the captain of the volleyball team of Aoba Johsai. That's him. Well, in your head, he's a playboy, a flirt, an attention seeker, a bad guy with a charming personality... yeah, yeah, you know nothing about him. He's not your friend or anything; he's in a different class even, and you've never even talked before. The space between him, the most popular guy in the school, and you, a quiet, introverted girl who loves music and hates people, made you feel that you two live in completely two different worlds.

You've caught glimpses of him in various settings: surrounded by his 'fangirls' in the school halls, with that charming smile on his lips, in volleyball games you go and watch now and then, in school festivals and everything.

Of course you admit he is good looking. Tall and sporty. The dream guy of many girls. Well, even your best friend, Niki is all crazy about him. Unfortunately not you. Then again, you've never thought about it. You have better things to worry about like your grades and music. Your biggest dream is to make music and share it with the world and you take it very seriously working super hard to achieve your goals.

Other than his looks and physique, you don't really see a reason to like Oikawa, honestly. It's not like he has the best behavior. As he sits beside you with a huge grin on his face, you wonder, 'What's this guy doing here? No one comes here except me.' It almost feels like he's desperately trying to avoid his Overly obsessed fangirls and wants to hide himself here.

As Oikawa observes the girl/you from far, he starts to sense that you are not like the crazy fan girls trying to throw themselves onto him. This gives him slight curiosity about you, as you are just minding your own business and not giving off a vibe that suggested otherwise. He walks over to you, curious as to what you're reading, and to find out more about you. He makes some small noise as he walks up to you.

"Heyyy, may I ask what you're reading? Your book intrigues me!!", Oikawa says, in a bubbly voice. You ignore him completely and keep reading the book not even bothering to simply say the book name.

"Ehhh, are you deaf, girl? Helloo? Heeellowwww?"

Great. Now he's screaming his lungs out. To shut him up, you decide to tell the name.

"Omg why are you screaming!? --- the book's called 'No longer human' by Osamu Dazai."
You say in a plain quiet voice not even looking away from the book hoping that he takes the hint and leave you alone.

Oikawa's eyes light up as he recognizes the book. He was actually familiar with that work, and he had actually quite enjoyed reading it himself when he got the chance.

"No Longer Human? That's a fantastic choice. It's one of my most cherished books of all time and it was a fascinating read."

It is? How interesting ~~ you think, kinda surprised, without reacting to him. He leans against the wall that you were both next to.

"So, may I ask you, what is your name? I don't think I've met you before."

Ugh, with all those layers of fangirls surrounding him wherever he goes, how can he even breathe properly without suffocating? Anyways, you got the feeling that you must end the conversation right then and there and continue reading the book peacefully. He smells like trouble.
