The sun beamed after last night's heavy rain, casting a warm glow over the world. The air was thick with the sweet fragrance of rain. Yoo Joonghyuk stared at Kim Dokja who was sleeping with mouth wide open and snoring. He frowned. This bastard caused years of suffering, tossed his life aside, spoke recklessly, and made audacious choices. How could he sleep so peacefully amidst the chaos he created?
Yoo Joonghyuk considered waking him with a hit but changed his mind. He held his thin wrist and observed his frail body. This idiot was as weak as ever. It was a miracle he led the scenarios with such a weak incarnation body.
Yoo Joonghyuk now stroked his head gently like Kim Dokja had in 1863rd wordline. If it weren't for him, he would have fallen into eternal slumber. He wouldn't have been able to see the end of the world with all of his friends.
"Kim Dokja... wake up. " he tapped Dokja's face lightly. Kim Dokja opened his eyes. His face was cleaner, and someone had changed his clothes—probably Lee Sookyung's doing.
"Did you meet your mother? She said she is going to see you."
"Oh... did i doze of again?" Kim Dokja said in a sleepy voice. "yeah she came. She got a call and left in a hurry. It was from one of the prisoner's of the Wanderer Group."
Yoo Joonghyuk nodded. "Here... have this." He passed a bowl of soup to Dokja.
"It smells delicious. " Dokja took a sip of it. His eyes widened and he took another sip. Then he closed his eyes and savored the taste of it. " It's so good! It's been eternity since I have tasted something so delicious. Did you make it?"
Yoo Joonghyuk nodded. He was looking at Dokja's expression intently. He watched his slender fingers shivering as he held the spoon. He watched him gulping the soup without a break as if he had been starving for years.
"Eat slowly else you will choke-" he couldn't complete his sentence and Dokja started coughing. Yoo Joonghyuk passed water to him.
"I told you to eat slowly. " He frowned and took the bowl from Dokja's hand. It reminded him of the time when he was poisoned. Dokja had fed him and Uriel kept giving coins for every spoon he fed. Dokja obviously did it for coins. However there wasn't anyone to give Yoo Joonghyuk coins.
"Hey I can eat on my own." Dokja protested.
"Shut up and open your mouth." Yoo Joonghyuk said bringing the spoon to Dokja's mouth. Kim Dokja looked at him with a confused expression. Yoo Joonghyuk he knew would never do this. How much has he changed from the original novel?
Kim Dokja observed Yoo Joonghyuk as he fed him. He looked in a better condition than yesterday. He wore a black shirt with white thread running along the seams. He probably dyed his hair because the grey spots couldn't be seen anymore.
"You promised not to sacrifice yourself. " Yoo Joonghyuk spoke after Dokja finished his soup.
"..." Dokja couldn't form words. He broke his promise but it was a necessary sacrifice. If he had told them about the plan, they wouldn't let him sacrifice himself.
"You promised not to regress again. " Kim Dokja said.
They both broke their promises. One did to save the world. The other to save one person who meant the world to him. In the course of time, Yoo Joonghyuk never thought someone would mean so much to him. He started remembering all the times he had spent with Kim Dokja.
He had always hated his sponsor for making him regress. For making him relive the hellish world of scenario and not letting him die. He had been wrong. It wasn't his fault. It was Yoo Joonghyuk who wanted it in the first place. Yoo Joonghyuk knew the risk he was taking when he asked him if he will ever meet him. Yet he decided to regress. All the lives he had lived was only to meet just one person.
