Since the proposal, the small family of three moved into their new home. Although Y/N had felt as though there was something missing, like small pitter patter of feet.

"What are you thinking about?" Lizzie asked as she walked up behind Y/N, soon standing beside her as Y/N turned to look at her fiancèe.

"I just feel like this house is still slightly empty." Y/N admitted as Lizzie listened. "Kai is almost 8 and he hasn't even gotten a sibling."

"Is that why you've been quiet lately?" Lizzie asked as Y/N nodded. "I guess once we've tied the knot we can try for a baby."

"Really?" Y/N asked with a bright smile.

"Really." Lizzie answered her with a wide smile, squealing as Y/N hugged her tightly, pressing a kiss to her head as she sighed, a smile on her face as she pulled away from Lizzie to gaze into her eyes.

"You have no idea how happy I am right now." She whispered as she brushed Lizzie's hair out of her face.

"Isn't it Lukas's birthday this weekend?" Lizzie asked as Y/N nodded. Her smile faltering slightly as Lizzie cupped her cheek. "It's ok to miss her Y/N."

"I know but it's unfair to you." She spoke honestly as Lizzie shook her head, a soft smile on her face.

"No." She shook her head. "I have never experienced that loss of love that you did. Before you I had a dead beat fiancè who cheated on me with his co worker."

"I love you so much." Y/N whispered as she kissed Lizzie tenderly, before Lizzie took her hand and led her through to their shared bedroom.

"Ok, are we ready?" Y/N asked the two as she ran around the house, making sure she had everything she needed.

"Yes we are." The two spoke at the same as Y/N sighed. Squeezing her eyes shut as she took a steadying breath.

"Do you want to stop off at the cemetary?" Lizzie asked Y/N who only smiled at her.

"But I need flowers." Y/N whispered as Lizzie shook her head, smiling as Kai brought the bouquet of Sally's favourite flowers from behind his back.

"Mom said that this is also a sad day and these would cheer you up." He told her as Y/N smiled at the two of them.

"How did I get so lucky." She kissed Kai's head before kissing Lizzie's cheek. "Let's go." She ushered them both towards the car as she locked the house. Y/N drove towards the cemetary, holding Lizzie's hand as Kai was singing along to the music in the back seat.

"So, I was thinking." Lizzie started as she looked at Y/N who was concentrating on the road. "How about next Friday, I'll ask mom to watch Kai for the afternoon, pick him up from school and if he can stay over for the night." She started to kiss her knuckles as Y/N listened to her every word. "Maybe we can have a date night, like old times."

"Just us?" Y/N asked her as Lizzie bit her lip.

"And maybe I was thinking we could start practicing." Lizzie leaned in to whisper the last part. "Since we will be doing it more and more after the wedding."

"Yes." Y/N spoke in a strained voice. "That would be perfect." She smiled at Lizzie as she pulled up to a stop in the cemetary. Taking a deep breath as her eyes caught sight of Sally's grave. "I won't be long."

"Take as long as you need." Lizzie told her as Kai handed her the flowers. A smile on their faces as Y/N stepped out of the car.

Once Y/N was stood before her grave, soon getting onto her knees as she started to clean it up. Replacing the old dead flowers with the new ones.

"My son and fiancèe picked these out." Y/N chuckled as she placed them in the pot. "I have no idea how they knew which ones were your favourite, but I think I may have told Lizzie in the past." She chuckled lightly before taking a deep breath. "Happy birthday darling." She wiped her eyes as she smiled. "I just sometimes wish you were still here with me, you know. Like I could use your advice sometimes, especially when I end up being a dick to Lizzie." She started to play with the paper from the flowers. "She is perfect. She is just, I can't explain it. It's like she came to me when I never knew I needed her, like there was something telling me to just find the girl, the one who will make me want to be the best version of me, and I did. I found her." Y/N smiled as she glanced back at the car. "I am going to marry her. One day she will be Elizabeth Y/L/N, if she wants to take my name. I guess we never really spoke about it."

"Mom, who is Sally?" Kai asked Lizzie as her eyes remained on her fiancèe.

"She was someone who meant a lot to your mama." Lizzie answered him.

"Like you?" He asked her as Lizzie nodded.

"Yes, exactly like me." She smiled as she watched Y/N started walking back towards the car. "Maybe one day she will tell you all about her."

"Hey." Y/N smiled as she got in the car. "Are we ready?"

"Yes." Lizzie smiled as Kai nodded in agreement. Smiling as Y/N started to sing along with Kai to the music. Once they had pulled up outside of Lukas's house, Lizzie grabbed the gift while Y/N got Kai.

"You do know I am 8." Kai told her sternly, making the two giggle at him.

"I know, I just want to take every chance I can to hold you because you never know." Y/N told him with a smile, following Lizzie up the path and into the house. Smiling as they heard everyone already talking and laughing.

"You're late!" Tim exclaimed as he took Kai from Y/N, mentioning something about juice boxes.

"I'm sorry, I was held up." Y/N started to apologise to Lukas who waved her off.

"I know where you've been." He gestured to her knees. "I figured Sally would be your first stop before here." He pulled her in for a hug before turning to Lizzie. "Thank you for coming." He pulled her in for a hug before leading them into the yard.

"As I live and breathe." Y/N recognised the voice before she turned to face her. "Y/N, how are you dear?" She asked as Y/N smiled at the older woman.

"I am great Synthia." She hugged the older woman before introducing Lizzie. "This is my fiancèe, Lizzie and my son Kai is with the overgrown child over there."

"Hi." Lizzie held out her hand for the older woman.

"I am more of a hugger." She pulled Lizzie in for a tight embrace.

"This is Synthia, Lukas's and Sally's mom." Y/N told Lizzie as Synthia looked between the two of them.

"She told you about Sally?" Synthia asked, shocked at Y/N being open with someone.

"She did." Lizzie answered as Synthia's smile grew.

"It's so nice to see her happy." She started to drag Lizzie away from Y/N as the two spoke. "You know, I watched as she broke after Sally died."

"She told me all about her." Lizzie told her, thanking her for the drink. "It was something and I wish I could have met her."

"Y/N was such a fool for her." She told her. "Even after her diagnosis, she begged her dad for help, to even get the help from his co workers." Synthia told her everything about the two and how Y/N had also distanced herself from everyone and everything besides the band.

"Y/N is one of the strongest people I know." Lizzie told her honestly. "To go through everything she did, and to be who she is today, it's truly something."

"She is truly something." The two soon watched as the three friends were chasing a laughing Kai around the yard. Struggling to catch him as he moved through all of the other guests.
