Sylvia POV

I am residing in the castle library, looking through some magic books just out of boredom. As I am reading someone comes up behind me and covers my eyes with their hands. I smile and reply.

Sylvia: Alexia is that you?

The person releases my eyes and she leans to my left with her head sticking out.

Alexia: Of course, it is me, Milady.

We both smile and giggle a bit for the action. She stands up straight and I look at her grabbing some tea sets and bringing them to me.

Alexia: I have brought tea for you to enjoy.

Sylvia: Thank you for that, Alexia.

Alexia: What are you reading, Sylvia?

I turned back to the book, grabbed it, and showed it to her.

Sylvia: Just some magic books, reading out of boredom.

Alexia looks at me with a sly smile.

Alexia: Or maybe you are looking at it for better kinky scenarios in our play?

I look at her with a blush and embarrassment.

Sylvia: That could be one of the reasons. But my main one is to just look through and see since there are all kinds of magic, even if they are useless, they exist for a reason right?

Alexia: True, I agree with that statement.

I then looked through the magic book again, but something soon caught my eye as well as Alexia's.

Alexia: What, is there something interesting in the book?

Sylvia: Yeah I found something interesting. It's a magic called "Marionette". I have never heard of this kind of magic before, have you, Alexia?

Alexia: I have not, Milady.

Sylvia: Huh.

I continue looking through the contents of the magic in the book. This specific type of magic allows one to use their magic on inanimate objects such as hand puppets, wooden puppets, and even animal puppets as well as even use it on human beings. With the condition that there is no will or soul within said body.

Sylvia: It says here that we can use magic on inanimate objects or human beings as long as there is no soul or will in the body.

Alexia: So isn't that like the same concept as necromancy then?

Sylvia: In a way, yeah but knowing us we don't use it like that.

Alexia: True, even as a mercenary I didn't like controlling the dead as my puppet since I felt it would dishonor the dead in that kind of philosophy.

Sylvia: True. Although I do want to try this out.

Alexia: Oh do you have someone dead or some sort of inanimate object or something?

I thought for a bit and remembered something.

Sylvia: I think I know something we can use to try out.

Alexia looks at me curiously and weirdly. We returned to my room, I opened a drawer at my desk and pulled out a small doll my father got me as a gift for my 8th birthday.

Alexia: That's a cute doll.

Sylvia: Thanks, my father got it for my 8th birthday.

Alexia: That's sweet of him. Now can you tell me why you decided to take out the doll?

Sylvia: It is to try out the "Marionette" magic we read back in the library.

Alexia gives an understanding look and nods to the experiment. I set the doll on the table, backed away from it, and then imbued magic into the doll, I waited for a bit and tried to move it.
