"How's work?   That Dottore guy better not be doing his whole..... Thing again."
"Eh,  it is what it is.  Oh yeah,  I almost forgot to tell you that her Majesty is setting up a ball of some kind."

"The Tsaritsa is throwing a ball?"
My question came as a whisper as I spoke to my only friend under the Tsaritsa's command, and all of Snezhnaya really.  Sandrone, the 7th of the Tsaritsa's Harbingers.   She gave me a tired smile as she looked at me.   "Well,  that was her direct order.  All 11 Harbingers were there to witness it.   Oh I wish you were a part of the Fatui,  it would make things so much more pleasant.  I can't stand being around anyone else!"  She huffed and crossed her arms,  causing the rune machine behind her to shift so that she was comfortable.
"We don't know why she suddenly  wanted this,  but I'm not complaining.  She's even already hand picked all those who will attend,  she'll have the word go out about it tomorrow as well as the invitations."

Our very different fur cloaks fluttered from the cold wind as we sat in silence.
We sigh as we realize how late it's getting,  us both needing to go separate ways now.
We hug for a moment and left our spots,  her going back to her experiments as I went back home.   I don't want to go back home though,  it's like a war zone.
I walk in to my house to hear my parents yelling their heads off at each other again.
They're older and fight all the time,  I'm surprised they are still living together with me.    Sandrone knows about this and has offered a place for me to live,  even going as far to offer someone to take care of my parents.    I almost took her up on that,  almost.    I did my usual routine of separating them and making dinner,  tending to them as needed.   They both hate me so cooperation is difficult,  but I managed it like I always do.

I take every insult they throw at me,  everyone piece of food they'd end up throwing at some point,  even cleaning up after everything.   Taking a shower and gettingng in bed was one of the only times of rest I get for the day,  praying to the Tsaritsa that my luck would turn around.
But even my time of rest had to be interrupted by a knock at the front door.
I slowly make my way to answer,  groaning as the knocking didn't stop.   I checked to make sure that my parents were occupied so that I wouldn't be attacked,  sneaking to the door.   When I opened the door I was greeted by Sandrone and a few Fatui agents,  followed up by a blue haired masked man.  His description matches the one Sandrone said was Il Dottore,  or The Doctor.
Seeing him told me I needed to use Sandrone's code name.

"M-Marionette?  Did something happen?"
The realization that something could be amiss seeped into my thoughts.
Her sad eyes told me I was right.
"Y/n L/n,  your parents are under arrest."
I couldn't help the shocked look I have her as the Fatui agents moved passed me into my house,  searching for their target.
"W-what?  I don't understand,  what's going on?"    Sandrone slipped of her Rune Machine companion and embraced me.
"I can't say it here,  you'll have to come with me to a more secure location."
My hand went to my forehead in stress and confusion as my oddly calm parents were escorted out of the house.  The Doctor stepped forward and stood right by Sandrone.   "No need to hide your close relationship with Sandrone,  so you can drop the formalities."   I feel like a kid who's gotten in big trouble,  and him saying that with no hesitation made it worse.   I mean I already get bad anxiety as it is.

"Let me grab some things and I'll follow you."

I sat down in a small meeting room,  bundled up in the warmest clothes I could find topped with my cloak.   Sandrone sat in front of me with The Doctor nearby,  tossing a black file in front of me on the table.
"Ever since you told me of your situation two years ago I've been doing some digging,  deep digging.   You've been through a lot,  so please take a moment before reading what is in that."  I nod and wait a little bit to prepare myself,  nervously pulling the file toward me.   Sandrone let her head lightly fall as I open and read what was inside.

WHAT?!
I dropped the papers,  standing up.
"There is no way,   I can't possibly be related to her majesty.  The Archons have never gotten with a partner,  let alone have kids.
The only way that's possible is..."
The Doctor hummed as if reading my mind.
"Unless one or both of your real parents are descendants of Khaenri'ah,  and had contact with one of the gods.   Permanent or temporary."   I took a step closer to him,  mixed feelings written in my eyes.
"Are you telling me one of my ancestors might have gotten intimate with the Tsaritsa?"     He smirked and crossed his arms.    "It's highly possible,  mind if I test on you to find out?"   His grin was menacing.

"I'm sorry I can't do this."
"Wait, Y/n!"
Sandrone called my name as I left the room,  but that was the last thing I could process since I walked into what felt like a wall.
Long raven locks and a soft gaze were the last thing I was before fainting.

Sandrone's pov

I tried running after Y/n but halted as she ran right into Pantalone.  Thankfully he caught her right before she hit the floor.
"Oh my,  she looks drained."
He was holding her like she'd break any minute,  not even looking at me.
"Are you gonna continue holding my friend like that or are going to let her lay down?"
He finally looked at me and snapped out of whatever world he was in,  nodding and picking her up.   He carried her away with me hot on his heels.
"Where are you taking her?!"
"Somewhere she can rest,  now stop yelling."
I huffed in frustration and continued to follow.

Phew,  this is getting good man.
I anticipate the next few parts.
