On their first night in the soop, when the friends were all just hanging out before bedtime, Jimin went to the main villa and brought Jungkook a mug of warm broth he concocted after the idol complained of a mild sore throat. Jimin was introduced by Jungkook as his cousin and temporary household-help, slash, occasional personal-assistant to his former band members.
They were all gathered in the dining room, eating steak skewers and ramyun and drinking beer except Jungkook. They gladly welcomed Jimin.
Jungkook felt an immediate soothing relief after taking the soup. "Aah this is so good. My throat feels better already. Thank you Jimin." He smiled at Jimin who was just standing beside him.
"I need a dependable and hardworking assistant like Jimin." Taemin sighs gazing at Jimin. "And such a sight for sore eyes. How can JK be so lucky and have a cousin like you around?"
He further whined resting his chin on his palm. "Just imagine, when you're dog-tired after a hard days work then have Jimin welcoming you at the door. I'll be revived like magic and so ready for anything the next day...hmm or maybe not...maybe I'll choose to stay at home indefinitely!" He says smoothly gazing softly at Jimin's face.
Jimin became self-conscious that he just smiled shyly at Taemin and lowered his gaze, with his cheeks and ears turning red.
Jungkook's face stiffened as he felt a flicker of annoyance and something unpleasant coiling in his chest making him press his lips in a thin line while he stared intently back and forth between the two. With a slight scornful half smile he murmured, "that won't be good for you then, you'd turn into a jobless, lazy bum."
V suddeny spoke after silently observing Taemin, Jimin and JK. He tilted his head like wondering about something. "I don't even remember you having a male cousin. Aren't they all females and your relatives live outside the country? But you do have nephews as I recall." He raised his thick perfectly-shaped eyebrow as he queried.
"He's a second cousin. I have a bunch of relatives in my father's side. And he does live outside the city." Jungkook swiftly answered.
"Ah Jimin, does Jungkook sometimes give you a hard time? You see, I may need another personal assistant. You don't have like a legal contract, right? I am always a nice guy and easy to work with, you know.. If Jungkook will be..erhmm.. difficult.." Again Taemin teased.
Jungkook immediately argued somewhat sharply while frowning, "I am a good employer Tae and will really appreciate it if you stop doing that.."
"Stop doing what?" Taemin asked feigning innocence, swallowing a laugh.
"T-that... that.. flir.."
"Jungkook can be quite stubborn and his hard headedness can be annoying sometimes" Jin interrupted nodding in agreement. With Minho also adding, "yes, and he can be overly meticulous to the point it sometimes feel like an obsessive-compulsive behavior . How are you coping with his OC-ness, Jimin?"
"Wait a minute guys! Is this a some kind of an attack-Jungkook-night?Why are you ganging up on me? I only want some of my things to be tidy and organized and of course I am a professional. I am only a perfectionist when it comes to my work." Jungkook obviously was starting to get upset but the members only laughed, enjoying teasing their former vocalist friend.
"But Jungkook can be charming and adorable and very nice ninety-nine point nine percent of the time." V added matter-of-factly patting Jungkook's back which made Jungkook grin gratefully.
"I know I can count on you V to be on my side. For the rest of you, you won't receive anything from me on your birthdays!"
Jungkook and V did a personal kind of handshake and continue to hold hands which didn't go unnoticed under Jimin's subtle observation.
