Seven ways to increase wealth and Allah's Love.
ISTAGHFAR AND BECOMING A RICH MUSLIM?
A shaykh was sitting in a masjid once when a man came up to him and complained that he was poor. The shaykh said "Make istighfar."
Another man came and complained that he had no children. The shaykh said "Make istighfar."A third man came and complained of a drought that was damaging his crops. The shaykh said "Make istighfar."
Now, the students of the shaykh saw all this and were puzzled. They asked him, "Shaykh, these people all came
complaining about very different things, and yet you told them all to make istighfar." The shaykh answered, quoting Surah Nuh, verses 10-12: And said, 'Ask forgiveness of your Lord. Indeed, He is ever a Perpetual Forgiver. He will send [rain from] the sky upon you in [continuing] showers and give you increase and wealth and children and provide for you gardens and provide for you rivers.'--
A lot of times, we read things and it sounds nice and we feel good while we read it but then we stop there.
If we really want to see results and change in our lives, we have to do something. It's taking action that really testifies to your faith in Allah's promise.
Just like the students of the shaykh in the story, it's hard for us to see the link between seeking forgiveness and
becoming wealthy, or seeking forgiveness and having children or seeking forgiveness growing good crops. Yet this is the promise of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala, straight from the Qur'an.
So if we really do believe the promise, and we want the results, there's only one thing left to do. Take action. And in this case, make istighfar.
