aboard the CV80: enterprise, primary flagship of gjallarhorn, and base of strike force alpha, gifted to the organization by the americans, who had aided in the construction of the TSFs used by the organization, the units that would prove the EVAs as obsolete and utterly stupid, the TSFs were similarly biomachines, like the EVAs but they did not use full humanoid corpses to create their TSFs they only used just enough to create an AT-field, and neutralize the enemies AT-field in turn, this was done in part by the ESPER series, and the index-system, which allowed a pilot to manipulate their AT-fields and almost use magic, a very elite among the group had access to the full capabilities of this system however, most could only create the most basic of AT-fields
shinji of course was one of these elites, the index-system didn't just allow for the use of AT-field manipulation however, it also allowed pilots to use the gundformat-system quite effectively, this was accessed to all pilots in the fleet, though those without ESPER partners were warned of the consequences of using the system, after that gjallarhorn was not to be blamed for the actions of an overzealous pilot, a philosophy shinji most definitely agrees to
"sir, we have received word JSSDF's main force, have just dropped an N2-mine of the third angel, codenamed sachiel" a lieutenant on the command bridge said

"it has stopped the angel and forced it to regenerate but it will be moving again in a matter of minutes, they are hesitant however to give control to NERV" the lieutenant responded
"of course they are that entire organization is shady as all hell, at least we don't keep so many secrets only our ESPERs are a secret and even then, not really" the captain of the enterprise, a german woman by the name of tanya von degurechaff said, she and shinji were incredibly close having served together since they were both recruited

"true, very true, i think it's time we gave those poor fools an alternative" i said with a smirk, which tanya mirrored
"send out a message informing them of UN special forces, codenamed gjallarhorn is en route and will be there in minutes to deal with the situation, helm plot our course, let's go to tokyo three" tanya said
"launch squads epsilon and delta, and tell them no funny business, or i will let sayaka play with them, kill the fucker quickly and cleanly" i said
"our message is received, they ask if we can really deal with this situation" a lieutenant said
"well if we can't then they can go running to NERV, no harm in trying at worst we slow the bastard down a bit" i said smiling evilly, the lieutenant being part of tanya's staff since her first command knew these two well, almost as well as the XO who had served with them since the very beginning of their tenure as UN officers
"squadrons epsilon and delta have launched they will arrive in two minutes ten-seconds" an officer said
"isn't two full squads a bit overkill" commander viktoriya ivanovna serebryakov the XO of the enterprise asked, as both shinji and tanya looked at her
"we are facing a threat that was not stopped by the most powerful explosive known to man, and you think two squadrons is overkill" tanya asked
"it may not even be enough we shall see" i said
"sir squads epsilon and delta have engaged the enemy, two units down but they did manage to erode the angel's AT-field for the rest to move in for the strike" an officer said
"two units down already" viktoriya said in shock
"told you" i said
"if we are lucky we will get away with just losing two units, two units compared to the number in our arsenal isn't much, and building them and finding pilots is a lot easier then building NERVs EVAs" tanya said
"ma'am target is eliminated, a third unit was taken out in the battle but remaining units are coming home, two units from epsilon, one from delta lost" an officer said, after a long pause
"commander get started on our report" tanya said, as the XO saluted and went to do just that
"recover our units, inform the pilots a job well done" i said
"sir, we have general matsumoto on the line, he requests to speak with the leader of gjallarhorn immediately" an officer said, tanya looked up at me
"strike force alpha is under your overall command" tanya said with a shrug, as i nodded, taking the comms unit
"connect me" i said
"this is lieutenant-colonel shinji ikari, commander of strike force alpha, of gjallarhorn, responding" i said
"who is your superior officer colonel" the general asked
"that would be united nations minister of defense rosaria li fonti, sir" i said, the man paused
"i see, and how many strike forces are in this gjallarhorn" the general asked
"three, strike force alpha, zeta, and omega, i am commander of strike force alpha, strike force alpha are the seaborn unit of gjallarhorn for the UN, strike force zeta is the air unit, and omega the ground unit" i said
"i see, very well, you have our thanks for coming to our aid so swiftly colonel, i must say we were very reluctant to rely on NERV and now it seems we do not have to, i look forward to working with you in the future, matsumoto out" the man said as he ended the channel, and i handed the unit back to the comms officer who took it and put it back on it's station, as i moved away from the officer
