I lock the front door and walk to my car. Which is a gray Escalade Cadillac. Opening the trunk, I lift my suitcase up and put it in. Pressing the button, the trunk closes and I walk to the driver's side. I get in and put my seat belt on. Taking my phone out of my black purse, I call Julia.
"Ring, ring, ring" "Hello?" Julia says groggily and confused. "Hey, I'm sorry I called before your alarm went off but I need to stay with you a few days. Is that alright?" I ask. "Sarah, you know you can come over any time but you have to explain why you woke me up so early." Julia says. "I know and I will. We are gonna need some donuts and coffee. Maybe some alcohol later tonight?" I tell her. "Wow, ok so it's bad then. Come on over with the donuts and I'll make the coffee." She says. "Ok see you in a bit, love you." I say. " Bye, love you too." She tells me.
I start the car and back out of the driveway. Driving down the street out of my subdivision, I think how every house looks the same and how their lives must be similar to mine. "Wow, I'm the stereotypical housewife and I have a cheating husband too." I mumble to myself. I put some music on to distract my thoughts.
I drive to the local cafe in town. Parking in a free spot, I jump out of the car with my purse. Going up to the door, I see they are open and walk in. "Hey Christie, can I get some glazed donuts and chocolate with sprinkles donuts?" I ask the barista that usually works when I come in. "Sure Sarah, that will be 15 dollars" Christie says with a smile. I give her a small one in return. I pay and grab my bag of donuts. I exit the cafe and get into my car.
Driving to Julia's it doesn't take long to reach her house. Her house is a cute 2 bedroom 1 1/2 bath. She got it after the divorce with her husband Bryan. Her son is staying at her ex's place. I park in the driveway by her car and get out. Walking up the the steps to her door, I stop and knock. "Thump, thump, thump". I hear her footsteps so, I hold up the bag of donuts and small a little sheepishly. She opens the door and looks at me with a deadpan expression. "Come on in." She says while turning around to go to the kitchen. I follow her inside and close the door.
