"WAKE UP RANEE!"
I groan.
"WAKE. UP. RIGHT .NOW!"
"Five more minutes" I groan.
I felt a heavy weight on me and was forced to open on eyes.
"Ugh you devil get off of me!" I screamed as I sat up.
"Mommy said WAKE UP!", she answered in her fake squeaky voice.
"I know, I know I am waking up", I say as I fall backwards on the lump of blanket behind me.
"WAKE UP RANEE", my mom now enters the room and pours a cup of cold water on my face.
"I am awake!" , I now sit up. I was so used to this form of early morning torture that I didn't feel the need to scream.
I got out of the bed and made my way towards the bathroom, took a quick shower and wore my uniform.
Then I was forced to eat a lot of breakfast at 7 in the morning and was pushed out along with my sister.
My dad started honking the car from downstairs in the garage.
I ran downstairs and sat behind while my sister sat in front. It was our usual seating arrangement and the only thing that we didn't argue about.
And just as I was about to drift away into sleep we reached school. Not that I was complaining though. I liked school.
Our school was big probably the biggest in the whole city. And as mentioned it was a girls school hence there were no fist fights and no shame only cat fights with claws. We were all girls and it made us feel at home and safe, maybe that's why people prefer to send their girls to this school.
But all of us get crazy when we see a male human. And that poor boy is treated as an alien in our school. But that hardly happened.
It doesn't mean that it never happened.
Once someone's boyfriend made his way in, to do some stuff-which-shall-not-be- mentioned. He was later beaten up by two hundred girls.Poor thing.
Anyways.
The main point is, our school is a typical girls school.I hear the bell and run inside through the pine tree covered driveway. The driveway is long ,very long and led to two paths one which led to the huge football field and the junior classes and the other which led to the basketball court and the senior classes.
I made my way towards the senior classes and got lots of hellos and hi-s on my way. I was popular I guess and it was earned by hard work.
I reached my class and slump down on my seat at the back, but only for this week. We rotated every week so that each of us gets to sit up front or so that everyone gets to sit behind. Which ever works.
A couple minutes pass and my group of girl friends come along. They were all from my class and we make our way to the court for assembly.
Soon classes start, the day goes by really fast and we reach our short 30 minutes lunch break. I go to my best friend, Helen's class and hangout with her like we always do.
Today our topic was- Why was Kritika digging a fudging hole in the corner of the football ground?
Atleast that's what it was supposed to be but I changed it to - How do I avoid love with the insanely handsome neighbour - Dhruv.
The moment she heard about Dhruv we engaged in a session of high pitched squealing.
"The hell your life is amazing right now! I wish I were you" she shouts, now the whole school will know about it.
"So ,whatdoIdo?" I whine and slam my face on the table.
"Why would you want to avoid love just go for it!" She states in a matter of factly way.
"Because as I said , Teenage love never lasts and I don't want to hurt him", I say for the hundredth time.
"Gurl loosen up a little! Have fun" she says squeezing my shoulder.
"But I don't want him to hate me".
"Gurl, boys this age are not looking for potential mates they are just looking for fun and you should too".
"What? I don't want to be potential mates with him" I shout.
"I never said that" she giggles and my cheeks burn.
The bell goes off and we had to cut our conversation short.
"Just follow you heart!"
"Yeah yeah will do, Au revoir" I say and get back to class.
I was dropped home by my dad who looked quite pissed off. So I just quietly jumped off of the car and slipped through the gate and up the stairs. And I was met with two dark eyes which I was trying to avoid for so long.
It was Dhruv standing there in the middle of the stairs wearing a thin tee shirt in this freezing cold month of November.
It made his sculpted form more noticeable and I found myself checking him out, again.
He too looked more confident and started to look at my eyes directly.
Soon we make eye contact. Both of us unable to look away and lost in each other's depths. We stayed there for what seemed like hours until-
A car's honking made him look away and his ears turn pink. Something always seemed to disturb us.
He started to rub the back of his neck out of habit.
I smile at him fondly. How could I not love this boy.
Unedited.
My longest chapter yet.
More to come.
Enjoy.With love,
P and H.
