*Author's Note: I chose this song since I like the way it would sound for an escape. Specifically, the part where Hannah is sprinting through the halls and on (yes, this is from Divergent. It's how I found this song ^-^).
IF THE VIDEO ISN'T DISPLAYING, it's called Run Boy Run and is the instrumental version.*
Stumbling from the car, I cradle my now dressed wound and follow my kidnapper to a camouflaged cabin. If I tried to make a run for it, I'd never make it. I'm still too weak from the brutal beating I took and the boy is much stronger than me, he'd take me down in no time.
The building looks to be fairly big, but looks can be deceiving, like my kidnapper. He's actually an extremely attractive teenager. If I had to guess, he's a few years older than me. Walking beside the crazy boy, I sneak a look at him. Brown hair cascades over his forehead in wisps with evergreen eyes that I can get lost looking into any day. He has has high cheekbones and a prominent jaw line that accompanies them. If he wasn't insane, I'd totally seek out a relationship with him. I nearly trip up the stairs, too preoccupied by my thoughts. The boy chuckles at me and reaches out a hand to help me. Sending him a heated glare, I ignore his outstretched hand and stumble up the rest of the way. Before we reach the wooden door, it flies open and reveals a middle aged woman, worry creasing her features.
"Ryker, you're alright!"
As soon as we come within reach, she traps the boy (who I now know as Ryker) in an inescapable hug.
"I've been trying to reach you. Did something happen?"
Ryker tries to pull himself from the hug, muttering incoherent words. With wide eyes, I watch the scene play out.
With my kidnapper occupied at the moment, I could make a run for it. The keys are in his hand, if I could grab them and beat him to the car, I could get away. A plan begins to form in my mind, but it's all wiped away when the woman notices my presence. She steps away from Ryker and eyes me.
"Oh, I'm sorry, dear. I didn't realize that Ryker was going to bring a friend home."
I flinch at the word friend.
Ryker scratches the back of his head. "Yeah, about that, mom, something did happen."
She glances down at the gauze wrapped around my arm and wastes no time in ushering us in. "Come in, come in!"
I step in with the boy and the woman closes the door, locking it behind her. My hopes drop at the sound of the lock turning and falling into place. I'm doomed. Ryker grasps my arm tightly and drags me down the winding hall until we reach a kitchen. When we stop, I try to rip myself free from his grasp, but it's too strong. Three males sit around a counter, enjoying beers and laughing between each other. They settle down when we enter.
"Ryker, you made it back. How was the job?"
Ryker shifts his weight uncomfortably and mutters, "It didn't exactly go down like I expected it too."
A young adult who looks like the older version of Ryker looks over at me. "Did she have anything to do with it?"
"She had a lot to do with it."
An older man sighs and places his beer down with a clank. "Mary, can you take her to the spare bedroom for now?"
The mother nods and approaches me. I step back and feel fear take over my body again. "Wh-What are you g-going to do to me?"
Mary assuredly smiles, trying to calm me down. "Don't worry, dear. I won't hurt you."
She raises her hands as if trying to tame a wild animal and slowly grabs my arm, leading me out of the kitchen. Quickly, I turn to look back and make eye contact with my kidnapper. His facial expression is neutral, but an unreadable emotion dances in his dark eyes. The door shuts, cutting him from my sight.
