"She's so beautiful, my love.", says Mom excitedly to my annoyance. "And she still plays the cello, we'll see him perform in person this weekend at the charity lunch."

I looked at her for the first time since Eunbyul started babbling about his best friend's daughter from high school.

"Charity lunch?"

"Did you forget, Jaewon?", she asked annoyed. "I've been talking about this since last week."

"Sorry, omma.", I smiled yellow, as I approached her to kiss her forehead. "I'm really busy with school, especially now that exams are coming up."

"Oh, my beloved son, so devoted.", she kneaded my cheeks with his hands, and I couldn't help the grimace that shaped my features. "You will be the best neurosurgeon in the country."

I almost grimaced again.

I wasn't sure about being a doctor.

To be honest, I didn't even know what I wanted to do with my future—but a doctor he definitely wasn't.

Jungwon was the one who would be the family doctor if Dad hadn't thrown him out of the house three years ago when he caught him in bed with his dormmate.

My brother cut ties with our family—he didn't even appear on commemorative dates, the last time the family saw him was at Aunt Sowon's tenth wedding last year.

Although I met him by chance the other day, his dormmate had become his boyfriend and he seemed quite happy despite everything.

I just wish I had the same courage as Jungwon hyung, but I hated disappointing my parents.

So I suffocate myself inside this bubble, creating lies and more lies.

I was tired of hiding my sexuality.

But I didn't have the courage to throw the shit on the fan.

"I'm not going to kiss you, man.", I was about to cross the opposite side of the hallway, when a familiar voice caught my attention. "Disengage."

It was Kim Minjun, the model student from Yongsun High School.

I only knew him because we were in the same class since first year and the exaggerated rumors that ran through the school corridors about him.

He was captain of the archery club, until he left the club in favor of the football team — with second-year 'B' Lee Woobin taking over the archery club in his place.

And one of the most popular guys in school, the oppa that every girl would like to date, even the boys break their necks to look at him, and his fan club of admirers only grew after he came out as bisexual—everyone wanted a chance with the school prince, but he always seemed indifferent to romance.

Minjun treated everyone kindly, with that polite smile that was sometimes irritating, gently rejecting them — as kindly as he could — so as not to hurt them, but people keep giving him gifts and love letters, dreaming of one day have your feelings reciprocated.

Very pathetic indeed.

"But you seemed to like me too.", insisted the guy with red hair, I think he was a third year. "Why are you playing hard to get now, dongsaeng?"

"What? Are you crazy?"

Minjun pushed him roughly, making him trip over his own feet.

He glared at him.

"Don't call me that, Sunbaenim!"

"You slept with the whole school, why are you being like this now?", he asks mockingly, invading the younger's personal space.

Oh man, you crossed the line.

"Get away from me, you crazy!", he exclaimed, despite his anger he didn't raise his voice once. "If you don't, I'll give you a beating that will make you think twice about disturbing me again."

The older guy laughed.

Um, what's the fun, huh?

"You hit me? Don't make me laugh!", he mocked. "What can a delicate prince like you do?"

The last thing he saw was a fist hitting him square in the nose.

I stifled a laugh.

"You...!", his voice sounded strange, as he held his bloody nose with one hand.

Minjun crouched down in front of him.

"Get out of my face, you piece of shit!”

The guy had trouble getting up, he looked at the brunette angrily before running off towards the men's bathroom to get rid of all that blood.

"Did you like the show, Jaewon-ssi?"

I looked at the boy who was staring at me with his head cocked to the side.

"It was a really good show."

I clapped for him.

"I'm glad you liked it.", he approached me. "Aren't you afraid of getting your nose broken too?"

Is he threatening me?

I turned to walk away, but stopped to look at him over my shoulder.

"See you later, Kim Minjun."
