Hiya's 'discreet' investigation began the next morning. She was standing outside Karan's house, hiding behind a tree. Her eyes were glued to the entrance of the house but suddenly something fell down from the tree and hit her head.
“Ouch!” She winced and saw a half eaten guava fallen on the ground. She looked up and saw a parrot flying away.
Hiya pouted, “Even birds don't take me seriously.”
She rubbed the back of her head to soothe the pain and focused back on the house.
“Let me revise my plan. As soon as he will leave the house. I'll go to the entrance, pretend to be his friend in front of the maid and get as much information as possible. And I'll have to make sure the camera doesn't catch my face. Best of luck, Hiya.” Hiya mumbled to herself.
“Are you spying on Karan Khandelwal?” Someone asked her from behind.
“Yeah! But how do you know-” She turned around to see who it was and guess who was it? Yeah, Karan Khandelwal himself.
He stood in front of her in a black tracksuit. He must be returning from jogging and saw her spying outside his home.
Hiya froze at her place. Her widened eyes kept staring at his blank face in shock and fear.
“Are you stalking me?” Karan asked her suspiciously.
“Eww, I don't stalk people.” She replied.
“Then what are you doing outside my home?” He arched his eyebrow.
Hiya's eyes landed on the half-eaten guava resting on the ground, “Guava!” She exclaimed.
“Guava?” Karan got confused.
“Yeah, I'm here to take guava from this tree.” Hiya lied with a newfound confidence.
“But it's a Neem tree.”
And her confidence flew out of window hearing that. She looked up at the tree and then at Karan's face. She didn't know the difference between guava tree and Neem tree. Unfortunately, he did.
She could imagine that trickster parrot laughing at her stupidity.
“Oops! I think I should buy guava from market then.” She smiled like an idiot and began walking away.
“Miss Hiya, if I saw you around my house again, I'll report you to the police.” He warned her.
Hiya gulped in nervousness and walked away from there as fast as she could.

Rishika and Hiya were sitting in a cafe. Rishika couldn't help but keep laughing. And Hiya couldn't help but keep pouting.
“Hiya, you have done PhD in embarrassing yourself. You don't even know the difference between guava tree and Neem tree?” She laughed.
“How would I know that Kameena Tota brought guava from some other tree? And I'm studying psychology, not botany.” Hiya tried to reason.
“There is something called common sense, Hiya.”
“Whatever.” Hiya shrugged and kept pouting.
“By the way, didn't he get suspicious of you?” Rishika asked when her laughter died down.
“He did get suspicious. But he thinks I'm stalking him.” She rolled her eyes at the word Stalking.
“Good. My reputation is not at stake.” Rishika sighed.
“But my reputation got ruined. I always end up acting like a fucking donkey in front of people.” Hiya wanted to cry her heart out but her Kohl was very expensive so she didn't want to waste her money by crying at the moment.
“I told you to mind your own business. You were the one eager to act like Sherlock Holmes.”
“I will definitely make him pay for this.” Hiya told her with a determined look.
“What will you do?” Rishika asked her. Though she knew it must be something stupid.
“Just wait and watch.”

That morning again Hiya was hiding behind that... umm, Neem tree. But this time she was even more ‘discreet’ than the previous morning. She tried to smile like an evil vamp. Keyword is tried. Because she miserably failed in it.
Hiya pulled out a hair pin from her hair and took careful steps towards Karan's black car. She bent down and with all her might punctured one of the front side tyres of the car. It satisfied her to see the air blowing out of the tyre. With a content smile she stood up and turned around... only to see Karan standing exactly five steps away from her. He eyed the hair pin in her hand. Hiya quickly put it back in her hair and smiled like an idiot.
“What exactly are you doing here?” He asked her, even though he saw what she did to his car.
This time again he was wearing a black tracksuit. Means once again he caught her while returning from jogging.
“My hairpin fell down so I was trying to find it.” Hiya lied.
“Oh, really?” He arched his eyebrow at her.
“Yeah.” She nodded.
“Then who punctured my car?” He inquired with his hands on his hips.
“The kids of your neighborhood must have done this.” She very innocently blamed it on the kids she didn't even meet yet.
“There are no kids in my neighborhood.” Karan told her with a look of annoyance.
“Oh, it must be very boring then. I love to play cricket with the kids of my neighborhood. You should try playing with kids some day. You will feel better.” Hiya tried to change the topic. As if it could distract Karan.
“Shut up.” He told her sternly and pulled out his phone.
“What are you doing?” Hiya asked, seeing him dial a three digit number.
“I'm calling the police.”
And Hiya went blank.
