The air had a cold feel that late May day in San Francisco, The sky blotted with clouds of white; placed like cotton, hiding the sapphire that brightened the day.
Things were pretty much normal; Traffic was like a bee hive, bustling with cars on both sides of the abstract road.
Taking a deep breath, our hero breathes in the fresh air.
"This is great weather, aint it Cinthia?" Chris asked, his emerald hues averting around their environment, laced with Chinese decor.
"I suppose so." she replied. Her hands shoved in her pockets. Though it had only been late spring, the effects of it previously raining had her palms nipping with cold.
"I just wish it wasn't so cold."
"It's not that cold." The teen replied as he shot a gaze toward her.
"Well I'm cold." She rolls her eyes, her teeth chattering at a rapid rate. Despite her wearing a salmon cardigan, the other sacrificed his peacoat to let her use.
"There, better?"
A simple bob of her cranium was seen as she looked back at the boy.
"Yes, thank you." her lips curve into a small crescent.
"Anyways, what did you want to get here?" she asked.
Chris takes a deep breath, his skin tightening a tad from the weather nipping at him with cold embrace, though not bother some enough for teeth chattering from him.
"Well, I want to at least get something for my fam back home." He sighs.
"Can you believe our finals are in three weeks?" He asked Cinthia in disbelief.
"I know! I'm really not looking forward to it, especially english." She groans in annoyance.
"Don't get me started; I like the idea she's having us do that ten page thesis paper now instead of our senior year." He huffs at such a thought.
"Well, lets hope our senior year will be much easier than this year. I'm so done with all this. I just wish when we got back we'd be out for the summer."
As their conversation had come to a hault, so had Chris. His eyes fixated upon a window. Embraced with Chinese culture, the two had to be near China town. Chris enjoyed other cultures and learning how others lived. His attention enticed as he gazed upon a poster that showed a fruit unknown to him.
"Huh..." uttered passed his slightly chapped lips as his bewilderment pressed on. Cinthia gazed as well, however not at all in the same interest as her friend.
"Looks cool I guess." she crossed her arms.
"Like what you see?" a voice chirped. Their attention was brought to an Old Chinese Lady who was rather short, but carried a wise demeanor nonetheless.
Chris flashed a loving smile as he answered, "Yes I do! In fact I love everything about it! The fruit has an amazing apeal, and the use of the bird is quite radiant."
He stated as he described the fruit. A simper appeared on the lady's archaic face.
"It looks tempting that could take a bite." Chris joked as he nuged Cinthia softly. Cinthia simply shook her head at the slightest disapproval but kept a smirk nonetheless.
"It is known as the Phoenix Fruit." she began "Long ago, legendary children known as the M'Kraan had planted this fruit every millennium. And every fruit would grant freedom to the bearer of the fruit to have the Mighty Phoenix live in them. However, some used this power for the use of evil and bring darkness to the earth. And the Phoenix would become the Dark Phoenix. Though the Phoenix was corrupted, it would not remain so forever. In order for the beast to become pure another host must make a sacrifice for the great of good. And release the being back into the darkness of space."
