Haein tossed his golf gear into the trunk and hopped into the car, noticing his brother's tense expression as he stared at his phone, obviously concerned about something.
— What's up?— Haein inquired. Caught off guard, Joon quickly hid his phone and attempted to act nonchalant.
— Oh, it's nothing. — He answered, trying to sound relaxed while keeping his eyes on the road.
— Come on, I'm the actor in the family. — Haein persisted. — You can tell me what's got you so worked up.
Joon knew it would hurt his brother to see what he saw, and he didn't want to see him worry any more than necessary. The fact was that Joon couldn't understand why Haein remained so deeply enamored with Jisoo after everything they'd been through. When she had cut him out of her life, Jisoo claimed it was because she needed to concentrate on her career — but they'd never entirely lost touch, even if their conversations were few and far between. Haein still dreamed of winning her heart, having stepped back to allow her the time and space to grow and shine in her own right.
Seeing her name on Naver's hot topics was not new, however, to his shock, the article revealed that she was dating someone else — and not just a random person, but one of his so-called close friends. And that shattered his heart into a million pieces. Joon saw him lose his appetite and struggle to focus on work. He even noticed that his usually strong and stoic brother was letting tears escape from his eyes. The sight broke Joon's heart, but it also filled him with anger towards Jisoo. In his mind, she had betrayed his brother, and he couldn't imagine ever forgiving her for the pain she had caused.
Though he harbored a deep resentment towards Jisoo, Joon recognized that it was impossible to keep the situation hidden from Haein for much longer. He knew Haein would discover the truth the moment he had a chance to check his phone. So, with a heavy heart and a resigned sigh, Joon took out his cell phone, unlocked it, and handed it to Haein so he could see the video.
As Haein watched the footage, his eyes widened in shock and concern upon seeing Jisoo fall harshly to the ground. A whirlwind of emotions consumed him, and without wasting another second, he started barking orders at his driver and manager. He urgently told his driver to speed up their ride home, while instructing his manager to use all his contacts and resources to book him on the next available flight to Paris.
At that moment of panic and worry, Haein couldn't even bring himself to call Jisoo and check on her well-being. It seemed like he deemed it more important to be physically present by her side as soon as possible.
Once they reached home, Haein hastily grabbed a backpack and threw in some essentials. Though still in a hurry, he remembered to ask Joon to cancel any appointments or commitments he had for the next few days. At this point in time, nothing else mattered more than getting to Jisoo.

Empty – that was the crushing emotion that Jisoo felt, deep down in her very core. Slowly and gently, she caressed the spot on her belly where her precious baby had once been growing. Her tear-streaked face pressed into a soft pillow as she sobbed, unable to shake off the terrifying words of the doctor. "I'm truly sorry, Miss Kim." The doctor had said with somber eyes. "But we were unable to stop the hemorrhaging. You've suffered a miscarriage."
Outside the room, Frederic paced nervously, his heart heavy with concern.
— Is she going to be alright? — He glanced at Lisa and hesitantly asked. Lisa took a deep breath, trying to calm herself before reassuring Frederic.
— Yes, Jisoo will be okay. She's incredibly strong. She just needs some time and space to heal. — Taking his hand briefly, Lisa whispered softly, — Thanks, Frederic. I don't know what I would have done without you by my side through all this.
