reoccurring dream i have

the beach

Context; In my dreams, I keep seeing a beach, a beautiful long winding beach and it's dark; the sun hasn't quite risen yet, I know I am there for a reason I just can't figure out what it is.

It's 5 something in the morning, and the clouds still loom, the sun has barely started to grace the horizon. It's windy and the cold is nipping at my skin but it feels like home. Something is leading me to a point I can't seem to reach in time no matter the path I take. The first path is through the empty out-of-season beach homes which makes no sense to me. The wealthy think homes aren't a place to stay or to make. Each home appears like there haven't been visitors in months, it seems to be tinted grey and it feels drab. Pushing the dread away in my mind, I continue my adventure as it starts sprinkling. This goes nowhere. Wake up. On the second path, I walk along the shoreline as the waves are calm and I feel like home is near. I have the desire for my partner on this path as the scenery is something to cherish with a companion. There is dark live grass rolling up the hill to the left with shrubbery spotted about. A gorgeous sight of rolling thunderclouds and waves crashing gently into the rocks to my right. The sky is also grey funnily enough, there's something similar to the other path that I can sense but can't quite put my finger on. I'm jogging early in the morning in the sand for some god-forsaken reason but in this sense, it's as easy as I do this every morning. There's a pier ahead,  it looks old yet sturdy and so familiar like I have so many distant memories on it. Wake up. The last path, the woods, and I have never felt so alone the trees cover any light and I can't seem to find my way. I keep trying to keep track but I'm now growing weary and weak. I can feel myself stumbling feeling my way through these never-ending woods seemingly to keep walking to the same place and my view is now tinted blue but no danger lurks. Succumb to the fatigue. Wake up.
