Chapter 5: Death Tarantula

We walk for some hours until we finally see the nostalgic cave… ah this place gives a hard time on me.
“Is this really the place?” the archer girl asks for confirmation.
“Yes that cave is the nest of the tarantula. And I can sense it.” I use my <presence detection> and sense the tarantula like I did 1 year ago but there’s something weird…
“I can sense it but it’s weird because there are more… they are small but they are 100 more inside.”
“Wh-what did you say?” The archer widen her eyes
“Isn’t this bad?”
“Yeah, I’m sure that’s its offspring right?”
“Yeah we need to report it to the guild. It will become catastrophe if they start heading out”
“Yeah let’s do—“ the archer about to agreed to the sword boy but she got interrupted because the tarantula gone outside and face us. This is bad!
“Everyone prepare for battle!” the sword guy unsheathed his sword and the archer girl readied her bow and arrows she pick up.
When they are readying their stance the tarantula rush towards us using its four legs… fast! But I anticipated it I mean already seen this attack so I intercept it when its leg is about to swing on the cane girl.
“Wha-what? When did it move?” You can’t see?
I kick the head of the spider who about to bite the head of the cane girl. The tarantula step back a little with my kick then it roar.
“Gaah I can’t move” the archer fell in the ground
“Tia cast cure on Loraine. <Wind slash>” the sword guy use some magic and order the cane girl and she cast magic on the archer girl and she stand up and ready her bow, she targeted the eyes of the tarantula. Good job.
“medallion cast blind on the tarantula, I will break its legs!”
“I said my name Madelline!” she flip the book on her hands and cast some magic and the tarantula become confused and swing it’s legs in the air. 'Nice one' so I use this chance but…
“Gaaah! The spiderlings appeared…” the cane girl scream when she sees some spiderlings with a size of a 7 years old child… not my height!
“Sword guy intercept them I will fight with this tarantula.”
“But…”
“You are just a burden! So go!” I shout to him and he gives some face like he chew some bugs…
“Geeeh okay leave the spiderlings to us and kill that damn tarantula! Loraine use the magic stone in the storage bag and use flame magic, Tia help Loraine and Madelline please support Lapiz.”
“I will do that even without your saying.” Good choice. But to use magic stone, wait what is magic stone!
“I will help you Lapiz.” Medallion flips her book and cast some spell so I run towards the tarantula targeting its legs.
Because the position of the sun is I think 4 pm based on its angle so my shadow is big enough to reach the tarantula so I use it as a lance and throw it on the eye of the tarantula who swinging its legs on random but the shadow is not enough to stab it… its hard! How about this, I use <blink> in front the tarantula and use <vital strike> and stabs my weapon on its head, the sword got stabbed but it snaps… then the tarantula faced me and tried to bite me… but I use my <One of shadow> and sink on my own shadow…
This is the first time I use it but I got startled because it feels like I jump on the water. Well at least I’m saved but my sword got snap? What should I do?
Wait what is that? I found something weird above me. I got surprised because I can see outside the shadow like I’m open my eyes under the water and saw the flesh of tarantula below its stomach that connected on its head… I see so that’s how it is…
The tarantula is still trying to find me, then I swam upward and gone out below the tarantula and use my <shadow magic> and make it a sword like to hit the flesh that connects the tarantula and that separate its head and big stomach.
“Lapiz! I thought you been eaten.” I saw medallion crying and fall some tears on her eyes.
“Don’t worry I didn’t, I just use my skill and the tarantula is dead.” I look at the tarantula but it started to move again and tried to stand but I use my shadow magic and created some spikes but it’s really didn’t effect on it but the tarantula fall on the ground twitching… it’s just struggling ha…
“Did it die?”
“Touch it if you still have doubt.” I joke on her
“Muuuh! It’s not funny.”
“Gaaaah they are so many!” I heard the screaming cane girl.
“Let’s help them.”
“Yeah.”
So we help them kill the spider lings, because I didn’t have my sword so I just use my shadow to make some spikes and they just easily died one after another…
It takes one hour until we finished killing all the spiders and I confirm that no one survives…
“Haaa that’s exhausting.” The cane girl complains
“But I’m impressed on Lapiz who killed the tarantula alone…”
“I help too.” The sword guy praises me and medallion pointed on herself.
“Can we sell this tarantula and spiders rather than its blood?” I ask them while the archer girl is collecting the tarantula’s blood.
“Yeah they said that Tarantula meat are delicious and the flavor is like a sea food that sea people sells.”
“Then help me collect it and put it on the bag I will sell them.” I order them
“Aren’t you too bossy? I mean we also killed some of them.” The archer girl complain
“But I kill the boss, so I have the right to get all the loot.”
“Gaa this girl is too greedy!”
“Haha let her be as long as we get what we wanted.” The sword guy laughs and collects all the spider meats but they separate the stomach and the head?
“Why did you separate the stomach?” I ask
“Of course the stomach of spider have poison inside. But it still can be sell because it use as medicine.” Medallion explains on me, hmm that’s good.
It takes time to finish until we put all the 101 spiders inside the bag. Its 100 meats and 100 poison sacks so I needed 2 storage bags just to collect them all. I put the tarantula meat and big poison sack on different bag.
“Haa… that’s exhausting but let’s go back I want to wash my sweat.” Medallion suggested…
“You just stand there though” I retort with her.
“I-I also exhaust my mana you know? At least praise me!”
“Good job on standing there medallion”
“Muuuh! Mu name is Madelline M-A-D-E-L-L-I-N-E and I help too!” she pouts and we all laugh while walking to return on my hut.

We prepared some feast and use the spider meat. While they doing that I check the bags for out loot.

“The magic stone of single silver wolf is enough to fire 3 Lv. 2 magic so if you asks the alchemist to put fire magic Lv. 2 on it you can use that magic stone 3 times. By the way you cannot use the magic stone if you exhaust the mana already.”
“I see now understand the purpose, by the way the magic stone of spiders?” after I said that the archer girl and cane girl jolt…
“Hehehe… they don’t have magic stone.” The archer girl smile wryly at me while sweating…
“Heee… I wonder about that.”” I give her a suspicious look and she sighs as if she give up.
“Aren’t you too greedy?” while passing me the storage bag and and after check it there are 101 magic stones inside…
