EMERY ROUGHLY ROLLS over onto her stomach, the soft mattress beneath her shifting from the movement. Her phone continues to buzz until she answers the call, tiredly bringing the speaker to her ear.

"Hello?" she says, a yawn caught in the back of her throat. Who could be calling her this late in the evening?

"Is he with you?" A deep voice questions from the other end, causing Emery to run a hand through her hair before flipping her body over and sitting up straight. When she doesn't reply, the person repeats themself in a harsher tone. "Is he with you?"

Emery furrows her eyebrows. "Who are you talking about? And who is this?"

"I'm talking about Isaac? My son?"

The girl's eyes shoot open, and suddenly her mind is wide awake. "Oh, I'm sorry, sir. No, he's not with me right now." Emery hesitantly asks, "Is Isaac okay?"

The man scoffs, muttering something under his breath that Emery can barely hear. Then, he abruptly ends the call without another word. Emery's jaw snaps shut, and she stares at the screen with a perplexed face.

"What the hell?" she murmurs.

EMERY: are you okay?
EMERY: where are you?

A deep pit forms in Emery's gut as the message goes through to Isaac. The annoyance in Coach Lahey's tone was unsettling to her. Isaac left her house almost three hours ago, hanging his head low and avoiding eye contact with her. By this time, Emery figured he would be at home and eating dinner. Why is his father asking her where he is?

It's been merely two days since the grave robbery, and the Laheys are seemingly still high strung from the incident. Mainly Isaac, though. He's more careful around his father than anybody else, Emery's noticed.

Isaac has been less talkative recently, despite the fact that he hardly ever talks to anyone other than Emery on a regular basis. She wonders if there's something else going on for him. If something's changed in him.

Emery shakes her head, interrupting her unwanted thoughts and where they are leading. Even though there's still a possibility, Derek wouldn't go after Isaac as a recruit for his new pack. He wouldn't.

Allison and Emery walk alongside Lydia, who had been found last night by Stiles and Sheriff Stilinski, as they make their way up the stairs to their front doors of Beacon Hills High School. Lydia insisted on returning to her normal activities, even though she should be taking a few more days to recover.

"You really don't remember anything?" Allison queries, squinting from the morning sunlight.

Lydia shrugs, her brown leather jacket folded over her forearms. "They called it a fugue state, which is basically a way of saying, "we have no idea why you can't remember running through the woods naked for two days." But personally, I don't care." She beams proudly, swinging her arms out to her sides to show off her figure. "I lost nine pounds."
