Takanobu Aone

(y/n) stood in line next to her long time friend Takanobu Aone, waiting to order their coffee like they do every Sunday. Since elementary school the two have been inseparable. (y/n) was never scared of the quiet and tall boy Aone was in childhood. She stuck by his side and even gotten into a couple of nasty fights with kids who would try and bully her quiet giant. Aone always had to drag her off the poor soul who had crossed her. He often referred to her as his little possum, due to the fact that she would either bite people or hiss at them, and he often walked in on her playing dead as to get out of doing something she didn't want to do. Recently he has noticed (y/n) slowly becoming more shy and quiet. Her normal sunshine and fire personality would bring an entire room to a stand-still, just like her cousin Shoyo Hinata. But ever since (y/n) has started dating Kai, she seems to be more mellow. Not to mention she has started wearing long sleeves or oversized sweaters, which wouldn't be unusual for her, but it was in the middle of summer and this year the humidity was especially bad.

"Hey Bu? Do you think that fish talk to each other? If so do they like, blow bubbles in code or maybe like I don't know, slap each other with their fins?" her little voice seemed almost distant as she stood next to him. He wasn't surprised or worried about this kind of question, this was a very normal occurrence and interaction he had on the daily with his possum. He thought silently to himself and then looked down at her, his black orbs gave her a questioning glimmer and she smiled. "Yup, you're so right they definitely slap each other." she giggled as she leaned her head onto his shoulder. Aone smiled softly, trying to let the blush dissipate before anyone noticed. Just as the pair was about to step up to order next, (y/n)'s phone began to ring. Aone watched as she quickly took out her phone and a look of panic crossed her face. Aone tilted his head at her, asking his silent question.

"It's Kai, I'll be right back. Go ahead and order for me." she whispered as she hastily left the line and ran outside to take the call. Aone watched from the window after placing their order. He could see (y/n) getting frantic and agitated as she spoke to her boyfriend. Aone stood by the counter, he couldn't help but notice how (y/n) began to look more distraught as the conversation went on.

"Here you go sir, your coffee." The sweet barista told him as she handed over two hot cups of coffee. Aone nodded and took them, heading straight for (y/n).

"Kai, I have to go. Yes, I'll be home soon. Bye." (y/n) hung up quickly, her tone short and agitated. Her (e/c) orbs met with Aone's and he could see a flash of fear and anger in them.

"Aw Bu, you really are the best! I'm so sorry but I have to get home. Can I call you later and we can pick another day to hang out?" she rushed as she took her coffee from the silent giant.

Aone simply nodded, but he looked her over, something wasn't right and he couldn't shake the feeling that she was hiding something from him.

"Let me walk you home." Aone said in a firm tone. There was no room to argue with the man, he had made his mind up and even his feisty possum couldn't shake him. (y/n) sighed but nodded. This was bound to happen one day, she just hoped to avoid it today, especially since Kai was already pissed at her for going to get coffee with Aone.

The trip back to (y/n)'s apartment was filled with awkward silence. Aone knew something was up, normally he couldn't get his little possum to be silent for more than two seconds, but now it seemed as if her voice was stolen from her. As the view of her apartment door came into view (y/n)'s heart began pounding in her chest, smashing itself against her ribcage threatening to make itself known to the entire world. As (y/n) was about to dismiss Aone from her side, the door slammed open. (y/n) jumped by the loud noise, her eyes instantly looking down.
