Sweat beads formed at the back of Cameron's neck as the podium ceremony ended

Sweat beads formed at the back of Cameron's neck as the podium ceremony ended. She placed P5 not her best or her worst, in her head she thought she did well considering her mind was still running from the night she spent at the club. Which happened now days ago but it was still fresh in her mind. While she was proud of her teammate, the celebration displayed in front of her felt like they were mocking her.

Every time she wasn't on that stage it felt like a stab to the back but she was holding the knife. Every loss felt like she was proving what everyone was always thinking, that she couldn't do this. While it was hard for any driver to lose, most weren't fighting two wars at once.

An arm sneaked around her shoulder pulling her close, she looked up at the figure, "Congrats on P5 by the way." Logan spoke with a familiar warm smile on his face, that Cameron had grown accustomed to over the years. Their relationship was somewhat bipolar- they liked to forget about the bad times, but the residue always remained in Cameron's mind like a stain you couldn't wash out.

It was easier to forget than to talk about it.

"Thanks, should've done better I have the car to get P1 but I guess I can't use it right." She said gesturing to Max spraying champagne down on the crowd. Envy and her care for her teammate fought in her heart on a constant repeat.

Logan lightly shook his head, "You beat yourself up too much, I got P16." He said exasperatedly wiping what seemed like stress off his forehead instead of sweat.

Cameron wrapped her arm around his mid back as his arm remained around her shoulder, they walked through the track nearing the garages which were packed. "Says you, it's your first time in a Formula One car, you only started a month ago."

Before he could rebuttal a reporter had tapped Cameron on the shoulder asking to speak to her, two microphones in hand and a cameraman behind him. She said a quick awkward goodbye to Logan before agreeing.
