I nervously stroll up to the list and spot my name right at the top:
HAMLET...........Coriolanus Snow
CLAUDIUS.......Androcles Anderson
GERTRUDE......Arachne Crane
HORATIO.........Seianus Plinth
OPHELIA.........Clemensia Dovecot
POLONIUS......Urban Canvile
This is the moment I've been dreaming about my entire life. I can already feel my Grandma'am and Tigris beaming with pride. "CORIO, DID YOU SEE?" Sejanus rushes up behind me, enveloping me in a hug with his strong, sturdy arms. "I saw!!" I reply, savoring the moment more than I should. "We're going to be absolutely amazing!" Clemensia bounds over, shrieking in excitement, "OH MY GOD, CORI, I'M SO HAPPY!!" I can't believe fate has paired me with someone like her. Perhaps our performance can shift more towards Hamlet and Horatio's epic love story rather than Ophelia's. The mere thought of sharing a romantic scene with Sejanus distracts me from responding to Clemensia's enthusiasm. "Maybe after school, we can... practice our love scene?" Clemensia suggests, her tone filled with flirtation. "Sorry, Clem, I've already made plans with Sejanus."
