At 21, Jake had become a man.

Nice shoulders and nice smile, a great job as journalist, a good reputation among all his social spheres, and a very active love-life. He was living the life.

However, being so great did not protect him from heartbreak, and it's with a broken heart that he was sadly sipping on his beer at one of his weekly get-together. A few of his best friends from high school were with him and had decided to let him cope with his sorrow at his own pace, in his little corner.

Until Riki, one of his younger friends, came to wrap his arm around him and exclaimed,

"Why the long face, Jakey? It's such a blissful day! It's such a nice and neat random Thursday!"

"Leave me alone Riki, I beg of you," whined Jake, feeling his head twirling a little from the alcohol.

"I know you've been dumped, but I expected you'd be a little more alert tonight, knowing who's coming."

Jake straightened up,

"Who's coming tonight?"

"Well, it's not that big of a deal, but we all remember that you used to talk about him non-stop at some point, especially since he disappeared after graduation. This smart guy,
Yang Jungwon is coming."

Jake froze.

Riki continued rambling, but Jake couldn't hear. He thought he had forgotten about him, but the sheer allusion to his name was enough to choke him. This fascination he carried all throughout high school got suddenly awakened. How would he react upon seeing Jungwon again?

The fear of having those heavy feelings coming back to the surface kept Jake stuck still on his chair, his empty glass in hand. He had to fight hard to get his senses back and act normal when his friends asked what was wrong.

Thankfully, even if Jake was afraid to freeze again when seeing Jungwon in the flesh, and despite the fact that he, in fact, did freeze, Jake did not feel that silly afterward.

Because everyone present froze as well.

When the restaurant doors opened, every neck broke to look at him. Time slowed down while he walked his heeled boots across the room, his biker jacket on and his helmet in his hand, moving alongside him.

He approached his friends' table, running a hand through his shiny black locks. No one even thought to wave at him to invite him over, too engrossed in their contemplation.

He stopped near the table and asked with a devastating smile,

"Where can I sit?"

Jake was too shook to say it for certain, but he could have sworn Jungwon threw him a glance before sitting down.
