Chapter 1: The Arrival

27 DECEMBER 2171 ; TEKANA HIGHWAY, 5:06 A.M

I was the first to wake up between my adoptive parents. Ava, my adoptive mother : dead asleep. Gerald, my adoptive father : snoring. I glance out the window and watch all the cars surrounding our self-driving Honda Civic. Looking even further, I make out what seems to be a circular structure, floating in the air, surrounded by floating brown rocks covered in grass : We're in Tekana. I quickly wake Ava and Gerald up from their deep slumber and exclaim : "We're here". You can see my eyes light up and hear the excitement in my voice. As we observe our surroundings, the automated A.I GPS system announces : " You have arrived to your destination". It never gets old hearing it say that. As soon as we got our of our vehicle, or "Cupcake" as Gerald calls it, it immediately drove off, leaving Gerald with an almost terrified, but shocked face. "What the flip dude! Where the heck did Cupcake drive off to?" He exclaimed. Gerald never uses swear words, as he thinks they're gonna "infiltrate" my mind, none of us understand why he's always so PG programmed, but Ava and I find it absolutely hilarious. Gerald started pacing left and right and all over the place. But out of nowhere, a grey, floating car had driven right into our driveway, with an L.E.D light up sign located on the door of the driver's side with "Gerald Lancer" written on it. Gerald approached the car slowly and with caution : he tried to look inside through the window, which immediately startled him as it started rolling down automatically. " Welcome!" It exclaimed, before it continued : "GERALD LANCER". As it said his name, it said it with a robotic and nonchalant voice. Gerald looked back at Ava and I, staring at him, waiting for him to proceed with his next move. But before Gerald could do anything, the car quickly continued : "Welcome to Tekana, the land of Earth. I am Z.E.V, a Zero Emission Vehicle, created to replace carbon dioxide emitting cars. I am your personal assistant, programmed to fulfill your every desire. I am at your service,  Sir..." It stopped. "GERALD LANCER" There it was again, that robotic voice depicting Gerald's name. Ava and I giggled as Gerald stared at the car in complete shock. We mocked the way "ZEV" said Gerald's name. As things had cooled down, the 3 of us turned around and were immediately amazed by the view before us : our new home, found in the middle of a glass bubble. It's like this house had its own ecosystem belonging to it. It seemed to control the weather and temperature of the little abode we had. "Cool!" I exclaimed as I ran onto the green grass, trying to figure out how to get inside the glass dome. "Wait, I think I know how to get in" Gerald said. He walked towards the dome and placed his hand onto it. The glass had displayed a screen showing a picture of Gerald and his name. His hand got scanned, then we all heard : "Access Granted. Welcome to your new home..." it then said, with the same monotone voice as the car, "GERALD LANCER". Ava and I looked at each other before bursting into laughter once more for these past 10 minutes.  As we were laughing, the glass dome had seemingly separated and created a doorway. This was the first time I'd seen anything like this.

Here is the first chapter, a bit long, I know, but I wrote this all by hand. Second chapter coming tomorrow, as its 11:30 P.M.
