I knew that rebuilding his trust would be a long and arduous journey, but I was ready to embark on it.

"Then, leave.." He spoke out, making my eyes widen.

I'll do anything.

But not this.

Sorry

"I can do anything... but not this," I admitted, feeling a wave of regret wash over me. "I'm truly sorry... I'll do whatever it takes to make things right, but I'll never leave you again."

"Huh?" Vegas responded, sounding confused. "Didn't you say you would do anything to gain my trust? So, leave..."

I quickly interjected, "I'm willing to do anything, but I'm not going to leave you."

Desperate to make amends, I asked, "Just tell me what I have to do to gain your trust. I can do anything. You can even chain me up to ensure I'm not spying. But I will never leave." My voice cracked as I cried out, overcome with emotion.

"Ouch!" Vegas exclaimed, clutching his head tightly and sliding to the floor. I immediately dropped down beside him, wrapping my arms around him in a comforting embrace. I could hear his sobs, and it broke my heart.

He's crying, my heart sank I never wanted to see him this broken again.

"Vegas...?" I called out softly, hoping to console him. We stayed like that for what felt like an eternity, neither of us breaking the hug. He didn't say anything, but his sobs spoke volumes.

"How do you feel now?" I asked him after some time when he seemed to calm down.

"At least my head doesn't hurt anymore," Vegas replied, his voice filled with a mix of relief and exhaustion.

"You can ask me anything. I promise to answer all your questions truthfully," I assured him, wanting to rebuild the trust between us.

"What if you're lying?" Vegas asked, his gaze locked on me, searching for any signs of deception.

"You can kill me," I spoke sincerely, willing to do whatever it took to prove my honesty.

"How did my father die?" Vegas questioned, his voice trembling with pain.

"He got shot..." I responded, the weight of the truth hanging heavy in the air.

"How did we meet?" Vegas inquired, his curiosity piqued.

"I was on my mission," I explained, recalling the painful yet faithful encounter.

"And?" Vegas pressed for more details.

"We were destined to be together," I replied, a hint of conviction in my voice.

"Bullshit," Vegas blurted out, his disbelief evident.

"Whatever, but it's the truth," I declared, unable to suppress a small giggle that escaped my lips.

"Everything will go back to normal if you can remember," I mumbled, feeling a tinge of sadness when Vegas didn't immediately respond.

"What if that never happens?"

"I'm willing to start everything from the beginning because our story was not something like a Disney Fairy tale, We had a very rough beginning. You forget about that, I'll make an effort to forget too"
