All Over Again

Waking up a bit early, you checked the clock. 9:45pm. 'Oh jeez...what do I do for the next hour and 15 mins?' You thought to yourself as you carefully rolled out of bed, not wanting to disturb Yui's slumber. Putting on the school uniform left next to your suitcase by Reiji, You headed downstairs.

Thinking back to what you and Yui discussed a few hours ago, Kanato definitely was the one that interested you the most. You got what Yui was trying to say; he's sweet but abusive and possessive, but you somehow didn't have a problem with it. 'Ugh, I swear, I'm gonna become a masochist because of this soon.' You rolled your eyes as you thought, stupidly smiling at the thought. Making your way to the kitchen, you realized that there were a bunch of baking materials on one counter. 'Must be used for making Kanato's sweets...' You guessed, picking up a cupcake pan. 'Alright then, I'll make him something.' You figured this was the best way to get to start to get to know him, and get on his good side.

Moving swiftly throughout the kitchen, gathering ingredients from the fridge and shifting objects around in silence, you assumed that none of the vampires would want to be woken up by the sound of you making a ruckus in the kitchen...especially Shu. Whether they were up or not at this time, you still decided to keep quiet.

You slipped your famous lemon cake into the oven slowly and closed it. Now you just had to wait a while for it to bake. Sighing and wiping off some sweat on your forehead, you removed your oven mitts and went to go lean against a counter to rest. But before you could move, you felt a pair of arms wrap about your waist from behind.

"What are you making~?" A sweet and familiar voice said. Blushing at the contact, you realized it was the vampire you were trying to impress; Kanato.

"O-Oh! ...Good evening Kanato-kun. I-I'm making a lemon cake..." You answered, trying your best not to sound nervous. You've actually not then THIS close to a boy before.

"Hmm...?" Kanato answered and lowered his head to your next, inhaling your scent. "But lemons are sour...why would you make such a thing?" He demanded to know.

"Ah, well, true that lemons are sour, but lemon cakes are actually pretty sweet. This cake contains 1 and 3/4 cups of sugar so...I don't think you'll be able to taste the sour part." You assured, smiling gently and blushed a bit more at the closeness. You also moved one hand to hold his hand back, that was still placed around your waist. His skin was pretty cold but that didn't bother you.

"I see..." Was all that he muttered. "...You smell sweeter though..." and that made your face go redder.

Before you could react to anything, a jolt of pain from your neck shot throughout your body like a lightning bolt. Kanato bit you...already? 'Jeez, that was quick...ouch...' you thought and squeezed your eyes shut in pain. Kanato sucked your blood for moment before pulling away. For some reason, you didn't feel dizzy. Must be because your blood regenerates quickly.

"You do taste sweet." He responds, wiping the access blood off his lips. "When is the cake ready?" He asked. Shaking the pain off, you ignored it and turned to face him.

"It has about 10 minutes left." You answered.

"...That's so long. Hurry up and finish it, then pack it for me for today's lunch, OK? The cake better not be sour...or else I'll punish you." He ordered. You nodded. Lunch must be dinner for you, but you just guessed that it was whatever meal time at school. Kanato then smiled. "Good girl." He said and pecked your cheek, leaving your cheeks to be flushed with a magenta-pink color.

"T-Thank you..." You softly thanked, shyly smiling. Before you knew it, 10 minutes had passed and the oven made a 'ding!' sound. You quickly slipped the oven mitts back on and quickly took out the lemon cake before it burned.

Cutting the cake into slices, you packed them into a bento box and sealed it tight, handing it over to the vampire. "Here you are." Kanato took the box from you and smiled more.

"Thank you, [Y/N]-chan. Good girls get rewards." He says and gives you a peck on the lips before teleporting off.

'...OH MY GOD, HOW QUICK DOES HE TAKE THINGS?' You shouted in your mind, cupping your hands to your burning red cheeks. Your heartbeat quickened by the second and your mind went all fuzzy for a moment.

'...But I can't help that I'm already hopelessly in love with him.'
