It's called a "challenge", but this is just a mock battle. However, even so, this match is really a big challenge for me because the opponent is the final boss of the game.
This showdown takes place in the forest behind the school, a truly deserted place where no one can accidentally enter and get hurt. There is a small arena set up so everyone can watch live.
In the middle of the noisy crowd, Eupheria and I face each other, and the referee stands in the middle.
"This is a challenge match between Eupheria and Thea, the winning side will have the right to ask the losing side to do whatever they want. The match will last thirty minutes, and after thirty minutes, if neither side has exhausted their mana, there will be extra time to determine the winner."
I know very well about mana, it is what helps people with Divine Gems use magic, and mana will be gradually depleted every time they attack, so the user must measure the amount of mana they have, otherwise they will not be able to use it. Casts magical attacks that can only be physically attacked. The main character also has mana, but it is a form of "energy" through a contract with Eupheria, but the main character herself does not have the Divine Jade. I've played so much that I know how much mana each level has, so I can measure my strength in combat.
"If there are no requests, please invite the two opponents to return to their positions and get ready for the match."
Eupheria and I glare at each other then walk towards the location of the magic restraining device and attached it to our magic source. The source of my magic is Eupheria's contract ring, and hers is the red Divine Gem on her ascot. The purpose of attaching this device is to limit the magical power generated, but for Eupheria, this does not limit her power too much.
After installing the magic restriction device, Eupheria and I stand facing each other.
Of course, even if you use a magic limiting device, the attacks are still magic in nature so they can harm people around you. Therefore, a protective barrier is erected to protect the audience.
"Now, let the match begin!"
I think we will roll the dice to see who will attack first, and there will be turns to attack because this is a game with turn-based strategy elements, but I'm wrong.
"Hyaaa!"
Eupheria shouts and rushes forward to slash me with her rapier. I quickly dodge the attack and narrowly avoid it when the shining sword passed across my face, cutting off a few strands of sideburns.
I have to find some way to fight Eupheria because my magic power is too weak and my mana is too low. If this continues, I won't be able to win against Eupheria.
But while I am busy trying to figure out how to fight, Eupheria attacks again. This time she points her sword at the sky and swings it towards the ground, the swords from the sky aimed at me and rush towards me. Once again I have to continuously jump back to avoid the attack. It seems Eupheria don't want me to have a second to breathe as she continues to attack like crazy.
I can only run away, there is no other way to fight.
Dead, dead, then what? I can't fight her, how could the developer create such a strong boss, and even force beginners to fight her. Oh my god, I'm dying!
While I continue to run around the field, Eupheria still do not let me go, she continuously attacks me with long-range magic to make it more difficult for me to escape. I've only seen Eupheria use ranged attack magic in the game so I don't really know if she's good at close combat, but there's no way for me to try right now.
"Ouch!"
I am running when I stumble on something and trip. But before I can realize what I am tied to, Eupheria appears right in front of me, ready to finish off her opponent.
