𝐋𝐎𝐑𝐄𝐋𝐀𝐈 reclined in her bed, nestled beneath the luxurious expanse of her silky blue covers. The disarray of garments strewn across her carpeted floor and the assortment of books adorning her desk bore witness to her untidy surroundings.

Footsteps were heard approaching the girls bedroom, she heard the door slowly creek open and knew it was her mother coming in to wake her up.

Maria walked over to her daughter's window and pulled back the curtains which let rays of sunshine enter into the dark room. Lorelai groaned at the feeling of the sun radiating onto her and pulled the covers on her even more.

Her mother gave her a disapproving look and stalked over to the side of the bed, she yanked the covers off of her daughter and shook her vigorously.

"Go away" the girl groaned, but her mother steadfastly disregarded her plea, continuing to shake her. "Wake up rory, you have school" she told her daughter and pulled her to sit up right

With a slight pout, Rory cast her gaze upon her mother and begged, "can't I just skip this one day?" Maria, however, shook her head solemnly, denying the request. "Lorelai Jade Beckett, get out of bed this instant, it's your first day and you can't be late" her mother stated sternly before exiting the room.

Lorelai lingered in bed momentarily, trying to get the strength to get up, after a few minutes she decided to actually get her day started. She walked over to her closet and picked out a first day outfit which consisted of bell-bottom jeans, a pristine white shirt, and a stylish black leather jacket.

She made her way downstairs where she was met with her family, her brother sitting at the table eating a bowl of cereal, her mother making coffee, and her dad reading over the news paper.

"Well look who's finally up" Sean, her elder sibling, remarked jovially as he made his way to put his bowl in the sink "And look who's 24 and still living with his parents" Rory shot back at her brother

Their father emitted a snicker, while their mother heaved a sigh. "No fighting, please" she begged them

"Well i'm catching a ride with Bonnie to school so peace out losers" she declared, striding purposefully out of the house to await Bonnie's arrival.

"So Grams is telling me I'm psychic. Our ancestors were from Salem, witches and all that" Bonnie started up a conversation, Elena was in the car aswell sitting in the front seat since she got picked up first. "I know, crazy, but she's going on and on about it, and I'm like, put this woman in a home already! But then I started thinking, I predicted Obama and I predicted Heath Ledger, and I still think Florida will break off and turn into little resort islands...Elena! Back in the car."

Elena, who was zoned out while looking out the window, snapped back into reality and looked at her two best friends "I did it again, didn't I? I--I'm sorry, Bonnie. You were telling me that..."

"That I'm psychic now." The Bennett girl smiled in satisfaction. "Right. Okay, then predict something. About me." Elena tested the girl.

"I see..." Bonnie started to speak but just as she was getting to it a black crow hit the front window of the car which caused Bonnie to swerve on the road "What was that?! Oh, my god! Elena, Rory!, are you guys okay?"

"Yea... yea i'm fine" Rory reassured the girl with a small nod. "It's okay. I'm fine." Elena added as she sighed.

"It was like a bird or something. It came out of nowhere." Bonnie started to ramble on but Elena stopped her. "Really, I can't be freaked out by cars for the rest of my life."

"I predict this year is going to be kick ass. And I predict all the sad and dark times are over and you are going to be beyond happy."

"oh one could dream bon bon" Rory told her friend with a smile.

"Major lack of male real estate." Bonnie said as she looked around at all the guys "Look at the shower curtain on Kelly Beech. She looks like a hot — can I still say "tranny mess"?"

"No that's over" Rory said shaking her head, "Ahh, find a man, coin a phrase. It's a busy year." Bonnie told them as she opened her locker.

Elena turned to look behind her and saw Matt, she waved to the blonde boy but he just ignored her and walked away. The girl sighed turning back to her friends who were already looking at her "He hates me."

"That's not hate. That's "you dumped me, but I'm too cool to show it" Bonnie started up as she looked over at Rory to signify her to keep going "but secretly I'm listening to Air Supply's greatest hits." the Beckett girl finished.

Elena laughed at the two girls foolishness "Did you two rehearse that or something?" Before the girls could respond Caroline approached them.

"Elena oh my god!" She said as she engulfed the girl into a hug "How are you? Oh, it's so good to see you. How is she? Is she good?"

"Caroline she's right there" Rory told her blonde friend pointing to Elena, "And i'm fine, thank you" The Gilbert girl told her smiling.

"Really?" Caroline asked her once more "Yes much better" Elena reassured and Caroline just hugged her once more "Oh you poor thing"

"Okay, Caroline" Elena said obviously getting annoyed with all the hugging, "Oh! Okay, see you guys later?" Caroline asked as she pulled Rory along with her.

"Oh!" The girl yelped in surprise "I guess we're going" she mumbled to herself and waved goodbye to her other two friends who gave her a small smile as they watched her go.

"We have first class together so I thought we could walk" Caroline finally told her after a moment of silence "Right..." Rory trailed off as she went silent again.

"Okay Rory what's up? Why aren't you speaking?" Caroline asked the girl as she stopped them in their tracks, "Oh no i'll gladly speak if we had something to speak about"

The blonde girl gave her a small pout in response which made Rory sigh, "Look I don't want to be late for class, so could we just finish this later?" Rory asked as she walked away without Caroline to her first class.
