The Sun and The Moon

Heeseung and Sunoo are best friends. They've known each other since kindergarten but heeseung always hid a secret. A secret that he was afraid to share to sunoo. A secret that could either ruin their relationship, or take it to the next level.

Heeseung is 20, a second year student in university, while Sunoo is 19, a freshman in university.

They barely had any classes together but they would always spend time with each other when there aren't classes.

One day, Heeseung was walking to the cafeteria to meet Sunoo, when he saw somebody already sitting with him.

He didn't mind and continued walking towards their direction and sat next to Sunoo. "Hey Sun. Who's the guy?" Heeseung asked Sunoo.

"It's a new student, his name is Sunghoon. Apparently he used to be a figure skater." Sunoo replied excitedly.

Heeseung put on a fake smile and greeted Sunghoon, "Hi, I'm Heeseung, Sunoo's best friend." Heeseung said, clearly jealous of Sunghoon.

Sunghoon chuckled noticing Heeseung's expression. "Sunoo told me that I'm in a lot of your classes. I hope we become friends." Sunghoon said as he put his hands out to shake heeseung's hand.

Heeseung took Sunghoon's hand and shook it with a fake smile still displayed on his face. "I hope so too."

The bell rings which made Sunoo say bye to them and headed to class while Heeseung and Sunghoon went the opposite direction.

Heeseung then stops midway and turns around and faces Sunghoon. "Do you like Sunoo?" Heeseung asked, a bit nervous to hear the answer.

"Sunoo? No, I mean I like him as a friend, but I won't steal him from you." Sunghoon says then winks at Heeseung's blushing face.

"W-what do you mean!" Heeseung replied facing the other way and continued to walk to class.

"You know what I mean!" Sunghoon said nudging Heeseung.

"I don't like him." Heeseung said.

"I never said you did." Sunghoon said then laughed at how red Heeseung's face is.

"Look man, I've only met sunoo for three hours, but I gotta say, he cares for you a lot. In fact you're literally all he talked about this morning. He kept blabbering about how good looking and kind you are." Sunghoon said walking alongside Heeseung.

"And I've come to understand how much you like him too with a few facial expressions and your jealousy at lunch. Maybe you should just confess." Sunghoon said as they entered class and sat together.

It was apparently a free period so they could do whatever they wanted.

"It's not that easy Sunghoon, we've been friends for almost 15 years, what if he doesn't like me that way? What if I confess to him and he never talks to me again. That's what I'm scared of." Heeseung confessed to Sunghoon, somehow feeling comfortable with a total stranger.

"But what if he likes you too? If you don't confess, how will you know what his reaction is. You can't just assume the negative side of it. What about the positives. What if he likes you back? Then you could be dating." Sunghoon replied.

Heeseung thought about it for a while. All this time he'd never thought about the positive side, all he thought about was being with Sunoo even if it was just as friends.

"But what if-" he started but sunghoon didn't even let him finish.

"No buts Heeseung. Just do it. Confess your feelings, once and for all." Sunghoon smiled as he encouraged him to confess.

Heeseung nodded. Which made Sunghoon cheer at his convincing skills. Heeseung knew Sunoo had a free period too, so he set out and went to Sunoo's class with Sunghoon cheering for him as he left the class.

He stood in front of Sunoo's class and saw Sunoo talking to a few friends. He entered the classroom which made everyone look at him.

Sunoo saw him and ran to Heeseung. "Hyung! What are you doing here?" Sunoo said with the brightest smile ever.

"Can we talk Sun. It's really important." Heeseung said, trying to avoid eye contact.

"Sure hyung."

Heeseung takes Sunoo's wrist gently and takes him to the roof top where the sun was shining brightly, but the moon is also seen.

Sunoo just followed heeseung, he trusted him and knew he wouldn't do anything to him.

They were standing in front of each other silently before heeseung started. "Um, Sunoo, promise me we'll be friends before I say anything you don't like."

Sunoo was confused, Heeseung never called him Sunoo, it was always Sun or sunny. He knew it was important but he was slightly scared as he was mentioning their friendship. "Y-yeah, I promise." Sunoo said looking straight into heeseung's eyes looking for some sort of emotion but all he saw was fear.

Heeseung sighed heavily, he didn't want to ruin their relationship but listened to Sunghoon's advice. "Sunoo, I'm sorry but I-i like you... No sorry I love you." Heeseung said looking at Sunoo's eyes which had become wide.

"I've loved you since high school. I thought it was a silly crush but my feelings became bigger and bigger by the day."

Sunoo was still processing the information, he didn't think heeseung loved him too. Yeah, that's right Sunoo loved Heeseung as more than a best friend. Sunoo was shocked, 'Heeseung likes me back' is what is going through his head.

Heeseung was scared, sunoo wasn't saying anything which made him nervous. He was starting to regret confessing but then Sunoo hugged him.

Heeseung was shocked but quickly wrapped his hands around Sunoo.

"I love you too hyung." Sunoo said into heeseung's chest.

Heeseung then looked at Sunoo and held his cheeks looking very happy. "Do you wanna be my boyfriend Sun?" Heeseung asked Sunoo

"I'd love to hyung." Sunoo replied, happiness filling him.

Their eyes locked. Curiosity and anticipation dancing between them. With an unspoken agreement, they leaned in, closing the gap between them, and they experienced their first kiss.

After a few minutes, the bell rang as they separated for air. Both of them were lovingly looking at each other, before saying bye to each other and going to their next class. When heeseung went and sat down next to Sunghoon, he was smiling like an idiot.

Sunghoon immediately knew that it went well. "See, I told you!" Sunghoon says laughing at heeseung's cuteness.

"Yea yea!" Heeseung said as the professor entered the class.

(Time skip to after school at the park with Sunoo)

Heeseung and Sunoo were holding hands walking around the park. They were very happy and were laughing together about random things.

Soon they were laying on the grass, looking up at the clear blue sky. "Look, the moon is in the sky too." Sunoo said excited.

"Maybe that's what brought us together. The sun is me and the moon is you. And they're both visible in the sky, I think it's fate." Sunoo said excited.

"Maybe it is, sun... We'll just never know." Heeseung said smiling at Sunoo's cuteness.
