At first, I wasn't interested about racing today, but when my friend asked me too I just had to. She always loved seeing me race, and I loved to make her happy. So I came.
I threw the oil canister in the trash after emptying it fully into my bike's tank. I took a deep breath, taking one glance around the small group of people standing on the sidewalk.
I lifted my tinted visor down, and pulled up to the starting line, a.k.a the crosswalk at the lights. It would be fairly quiet if not for the people chatting.
- Look, it's Angel Dust! -Someone from the little group yelled. I turned my head to look at them, giving them a little nod and waving. I noticed that it was a teenage boy. I wondered how this young fella ended up here, but I figured he came with his older friends or something like that.
I switched the kill-switch, so I don't use up any of the gas that I have right now. I can't run out of gas during this race.
Luckily, I wasn't racing with anybody who was an actual rival of mine today. It was just a friend who I had met a few weeks ago at that race I won.
I totally 100% didn't force him to race with me just so I don't gotta stress.

After a few minutes, a bigger audience gathered. It was nothing too big though, as these races are fortunately not exactly popular so we have a high chance of not getting caught.
I looked at the crowd, and noticed a pretty tall looking guy in it, who was looking at me. His face was so familiar, for some reason. As I squinted my eyes to see his face better I realized he had heterochromia. Oh, he was walking past me and my friend earlier, that's why I recognize him. He goes to these races?
I felt my heart start to beat a little bit faster than usual as we made eye contact. I don't know how he does it, but he knows how to stare directly at my eyes even when he doesn't see them. It's probably just the little adrenaline rush I get before every race.
All my thoughts about that guy faded as I heard some more engines roaring in the back. I turned around to see that it was a few more other people on their bikes who were going to race today. And one of them was my friend, Liam!
I waved to him, and he pulled up next to me on his BMW S1000RR.
- Hey, Angel. - Liam said, flipping his kill switch. He raised his visor, to reveal his emerald green eyes.
- What's up, Liam? - I responded.
- I'm excited, to be honest. And a little scared. It's my first time racing with you and I've seen you do some scary shit during races so... - Liam trailed off, and then chuckled.
- Ah, that's what I always hear. I'll try to go easy on you, but I can't promise that. - I replied back, a grin spreading across my face under my helmet.

Me and Liam positioned our bikes in front of the cross walk, and turned on our engines. I gave my bike a couple of revs for good measure, and he did too.I watched the girl walking in front of us, between our bikes. She had two flags in her hand, and she lifted them up in the air. I gave her outfit a quick scan. I was honestly impressed at how she didn't even feel cold at all. It was 9PM, and she was in short jean shorts, and in a tube top. But hey, she looked hot as hell in them anyway.
The engines of both our bikes started roaring as we held down the gas, making sure we have a fast start.
- 3! - I heard her yell.
- 2! -
- 1... Go! - She said lastly, throwing her hands down.
And almost instantly, me and Liam sped off.
