-five years later-
" Clare, I need to takl to you," Christian calls from his room. I get up and walk slowly to his room, exhaustion dragging me down. I rap lightly on the door.
" What did you need?" I ask trying to keep my voice light. Clare, I need you." He had more to say but a beeping cut him off. He swears quietly and fumbles arround for his phone.
" HEllo?" He bites out.
"Uh yes alright. WHAT NO no way on the planet!" HE stops sits silently and nods
"Fine but if she dies I will hunt you down and eat you for breakfast." He hangs up and turns back to me an apologetic smile on his face.
"Sorry. Clare, I need you. More than a brother needs his sister, more than a leader needs his followers. I need you like a man needs a woman. CLarrissa, I love you." My eyes try to fill with tears but can't. As I fight to keep my composure Christian looks like he wants to kick himself.
" Oh I don't know what to say. I guess yes. I feel the same." I sit on the bed beside him. He reaches out for my hand and for once I let him take it. I let someone in.
