Taylor was sitting up in bed, leaning against the headboard, motivated to finish the book she was reading. Travis was laying next to her, had gone to sleep three chapters ago, exhausted from practice.

This was often how their days would end. Tour had steered Taylor into a ridiculous sleep schedule that still persisted even a month into her break following the South American leg. Although, this is likely attributed to the fact that prior to the tour, her sleeping hours were far from normal.

But it worked. They treasured the time in the evenings when neither of them had any place to be, except with each other. And Taylor was appreciative of the quiet that seemed to linger in a strangely physical way when she was the only one awake in the house. She felt safe. She felt so consistently safe here that it seemed almost too good to be true.

Something caught her eye, and Taylor looked up to watch a sliver of light glide along the wall. A car drove past outside, headlights beaming through a small gap between the curtains. Taylor put her book down, very carefully moved the duvet off her legs, and got out of bed. She tiptoed over to the window, where she pulled back the curtain. She gasped at the sight. She very quickly manoeuvred her way to the other side of the bed, where she shook Travis' body and whispered for him to wake up.

"Mmm" Travis mumbled into his pillow. He blindly reached his arm out in her direction. "What's- what?"

"It's snowing!" Taylor grinned.

Travis inhaled deeply and rolled over to look up at her. "Why did you wake me up?"

"I don't know, I just," she glanced at the window, her smile fading. "I don't know."

It was the first snow Taylor had seen this winter, and it was exhilarating just a few moments ago. But as she stood at the side of the bed, in the middle of the night, peering down at her boyfriend waking up, she felt increasingly stupid.

"I'm, um, just go back to sleep, I'm sorry." Taylor cringed at herself for waking up Travis over such a trivial thing.

As she moved to go back to bed, Travis spoke, "Wait," he looked a little more awake, rubbing at his eye, "let's go outside."

Taylor smiled incredulously, "What?"

Travis sat up and shrugged. "You seemed eager. We don't have to."

Taylor paused for a moment, "Are you sure? You can go back to sleep, really."

Travis swung his legs over the side of the bed, "Get your slippers on."

The snow must've just started, because the ground was only wet, no settled snow. As they stepped outside, Taylor held out her hand, grinning at the snowflakes melting into her palm. She turned around to find Travis watching her.

"What?" Taylor smiled.

"You're so..."

Taylor dipped her head and raised her eyebrows with a smirk. "I'm so...?"

He sighed happily. "I'm not good with words. But you just," he trailed off again and shook her head. Taylor dropped her arm to her side and approached Travis, who placed his hands on her head, smoothing her hair away from her face. "You have snow in your hair."

"Likewise," Taylor giggled, reaching up to his head.

Travis chuckled and Taylor brought her hands down to behind his neck.

Very slowly, snow began building up on the patio. It glistened as it fell all around them, onto them, with them. The pair swayed slowly, holding each other in the snow.

"I love you a lot." Taylor whispered, barely audible.

Travis' eyes grew soft. "I love you a lot." He leaned down to kiss her. It was intimate, and long. Her body regained some heat she hadn't noticed she'd lost by standing here in the snow.

When he pulled away, Taylor's smile grew and she bit the inside of her lip. It wasn't their first time exchanging those words, but it didn't come frequently, either. They stared at each other for what felt stupidly long before she broke the tension. "Well, thanks," she mumbled and rolled her eyes.

Travis chuckled and pulled her into another hug, and gave the top of her head a quick kiss. As they swayed back and forth, he felt a shiver run through her body. "Tay," he whispered, "Should we go back inside?" Taylor nodded against his chest.

When inside, they kicked off their shoes and Travis confused Taylor by sitting on the couch instead of going back to bed. He looked up at her and patted the spot next to him.

"I'm sorry I woke you up," Taylor said sheepishly, shuffling to him. "I got excited by the snow and..."

Travis shook his head, "Don't be sorry, are you kidding?" Taylor smiled in response.

Travis pressed kisses to the side of Taylor's head as she settled down next to him. His arm stretched across her shoulders and she turned into his body, his fingertips dancing along her upper arm.

"I'm going to try and say this in a way that doesn't sound ridiculously juvenile," Taylor started.

"Okay," he whispered back.

Taylor breathed in. "I don't know what it is. Or-" Taylor laughed. "I guess it's you."

"What?" Travis smiled.

"There's something about being here, in this city, in this house... with you. It's a feeling that I don't think I've ever felt in my life. It just feels like a never ending fairytale. Well, that might be a bit much but- you know what, nevermind."

Taylor began to deeply regret speaking when Travis remained silent. She moved her thumb back and forth along his chest. "Trav?" She whispered.

"I know what you mean." He said quietly. She lifted herself off him slightly to look at him, but the amount of love in his eyes was too much to face and she rested her head against him again, blushing. "I don't know how I got so lucky with you."

Taylor frowned. "You mean you don't know how I got so lucky."

"Now you sound ridiculous." Travis remarked, widening Taylor's smile.
