The touch of his hand lightly circling her belly button woke Taylor. Still half asleep, she opened her eyes slowly, revelling in the sensation of his lips cavorting along her neck.

"Morning sweetie," Travis purred.

Taylor's stomach did a flip and a twirl and landed like jelly. She grinned, "good morning."

Travis pressed a kiss to her lips before pulling away. Taylor frowned, finally looking at him. "Why do you look like that?" she mumbled.

"Like what?'

She waved a hand in the air. "All... dressed and good and... put together."

"Oh," he sat up in the bed, fully clothed and ready to walk out the door - save for shoes. "I let you sleep while I got ready. You looked so peaceful, but I knew I'd get a good telling off if I left without saying goodbye," he said, his eyes twinkling, the soft waking light creeping through the blinds.

Travis would be hours into practice when Taylor boarded her plane back to New York for the week. A month after meeting for the first time, the gaps between Taylor and Travis seeing each other had been decreasing, with each goodbye feeling heavier and more tender.

"So you got back into bed?"

"Sure did." He drew circles on her bare arm with his fingertip, gazing into her eyes with adoration. She gazed back. "Do you think, one day, there might be a little girl running around here with these gorgeous curls?" Travis whispered, twirling a strand of her hair.

Taylor blinked, completely thrown off. "Ah... you, you're going to be late."

Travis breathed in, his expression wavering for a split second. "Don't worry," he slid from the bed, "That wouldn't be for a few years, obviously," he said, his voice noncommittal but with a trace of hope. They both did awkward, stilted laughs. He began traipsing around the room while Taylor desperately wanted to turn back time and un-ruin their perfect moment.

"I hope practice goes well. See you Monday," she managed to stammer out.

He turned around and flashed his smile, the one that was beginning to feel so familiar and safe to Taylor. Travis sat down on the side of the bed and picked up her hand. He pressed a soft kiss, then lowered it back down to the mattress. "I... I'll miss you"

"I'll miss you too," Taylor whispered.

"Wait, so, this whole freak out and he only mentioned having kids once?" Keleigh exclaimed, incredulous.

"Well..."

"And it was an offhand comment?"

"He..." Taylor huffed. "He said it so easily, like he's been thinking about it. We aren't even officially dating!"

Keleigh paused for a moment, contemplative. "You and Travis are solid, right? As solid as you can be in one month. You're exclusive. Why wouldn't you make it official?"

Taylor's back was screaming at her to go sit down on the couch instead of having this conversation standing at the kitchen island.

"Because... if we got into a relationship and things go bad I'll have to go through another break up. I really can't handle that."

"Why would it go bad? You're punishing Travis for what Joe did." Sometimes Keleigh could cut to the heart of a messy situation with sharp insight. Taylor itched to immediately tell her she didn't understand, but realised maybe Keleigh understood better than herself. So instead, she huffed and dropped her head into her hands, whining in self pity.
