When I first boarded the plane from Manila to Aklan, I was very nervous as in the type of person who wanted to get off the plane but I had no choice, I had to take the plane together with my family. I was so scared, especially when the plane was going up, I thought it was the end for me, but look I was able to handle it because of my mom and aunt Virgie. The trip was almost an hour and here we were in Aklan. Upon my mom's retirement, my grandmother, mom, uncle and I decided to settle here in Aklan. At first, I was ecstatic and full of high hopes, but the longer I stay here, the sadder I become. That's right. My co-workers in Manila told me that life in the province is difficult and sad. The only good thing here is the fresh air, and assorted fresh fruits and vegetables. The lifestyle here is so divergent. The people here are so laid back, there is no life here. The culture of the natives and language is enigmatic. If I had to choose, I would still prefer to reside in Manila. Oh right, I'm not in Boracay, I'm settling in one of the Poblacion in Kalibo. Full of trees, farm animals, and basically surrounded by agricultural lands. Main occupation here is farming. The malls here only have one or two floors and no cinemas. I'm really sad here. I've been doing a lot of silly things but I still can't sleep at night. In Manila, I have acquaintances that I can go to. While here, the people I know live so far away. Even finding a job is laborious. Most of the jobs here involve networking. Every morning, you'll wake up to the sounds of cows, frogs and roosters. Chickens with their chicks roam around the fields having a great day. Others may adore living here but I'm still in the process of assimilating all the changes that is happening. Praying that one day I can submit myself to all these challenges in my life.
