|Part 1|
When you slightly open the window, you feel the pleasant morning coolness. It's exactly 6:30, so you have to be at work in an hour. The thought of having to look through piles of papers for another 8 hours makes you feel sick. Unfortunately, despite the visible overpopulation in Seattle, there are not many murder cases that your department deals with and sometimes you come to work just to spend those 8 hours in the office. On the other hand, it's good that there are fewer and fewer psychos lately, because after all, if the director notices that there is nothing to work on, your team help in another department. However, this never happened.
Looking out the window at the beautiful landscape, your stomach signaled you that it was time to eat something. After a while, you were in the kitchen, cooking yesterday's dinner. It wasn't the best you had in the fridge, but you were pressed for time.
The aroma of coffee could already be felt throughout the kitchen. You drank the last sip and suddenly you got a call. You looked at the phone screen and you saw a call from Jessie on it. You answered.
Jessie: Hey Calleb, you have to get here quickly. We have a new case at work, please come as soon as you can- When she hung up you noticed that your colleague's voice was qquotes shaky.
You quickly gathered everything you needed and put it in your bag.
~ Well, the laundry will wait ~
You thought.
When you left the house, you quickly looked at the brown dusty watch.
*6:56*
You figured you'd be leaving in 15 minutes anyway, so you weren't that upset about not finishing your morning routine. When you got into the car, you threw your bag on the passenger seat. You put the keys in the ignition and drove away.
It was exactly 7:11 when you arrived to work. What immediately caught your eye was that there was no one in the main hall. It was quite strange because it is usually swarmed by employees. You didn't think about it any longer. A moment later, Kate, a colleague from work, approached you.
Kate: Oh here you are, we have the deal of the century, you have to see it.- She sounded kinda exited but also dilated.
Kate led you to the room where everyone was sitting. On a huge table there was a pile of papers scattered all over the surface. You looked at Jessie with surprise.
Jessie: Okay, listen Calleb... or maybe you should sit down first. Ehh, sorry, this thing really confused me today. I guess I'm not the only one- You looked at othersand they had the same expressions as Jessie. A little surprised, uncertain, some even scared.
You: To the point, Jessie
Jessie: Okay, sorry- You sat down in the chair next to Kate- So, we have a murder case. Yesterday around 12 p.m. a young girl died. Her name was Lucy Anderson. Age 23, here you have all her details.- She handed you a piece of paper with the girl's biography.
