A M A R A -
I hummed to the song playing in my ear buds as I ate my vanilla ice cream cone under the white weeping tree, the white leaves flowing around beautifully in the soft wind.
I jumped back when a butterfly landed on my leg. I shook my leg so it'd fly off, but it didn't budge. Although butterflies are harmless, they're still insects & I have a massive phobia of insects.
"Go away!" I shouted flicking it off my leg & a few people passing by stopped & stared at me in confusion.
I ignored their stares & kept eating my ice cream with no care in the world.
I looked around the massive green park & smiled seeing people socialize. Kids playing, the elderly walking around with their loved ones & teens taking photos by the swings. A beautiful sight to see, but sad to know that humanity is fucked.
I finished my ice cream & got up gathering my things. I shook off the blanket I was sitting on & folded it before shoving it into my bag.
I looked at the weeping tree & decided to take a photo of it before leaving the park. I began walking & looked down at my phone analyzing the picture.
I then looked at the time realizing my break ended 12 minutes ago. I just stopped & stared at the time, then shrugged my shoulders not really caring.
I need more than a fucking 30 minute break.
I continued walking heading directly to my car. I unlocked my car before opening the door & stepping in, slamming the door shut & quickly locking all of the doors.
"Time to go back to hell." I groaned as I pressed the ' start ' button in my car.

My boss stood at the door waiting impatiently for me with his arms crossed over his chest as tapped his foot on the ground.
"You're late." My boss said almost immediately when I walked through the door.
"You're-" I cut him off.
"I'm what? Fired?" I cocked an eyebrow.
"Respectfully sir, you need me. I actually do my job rather than snorting crack on the women's bathroom floor." I spoke tilting my head to the side & he swallowed.
"Fair enough." He mumbled. I walked past him & some of my coworkers laughed.
"Girl you really don't care." My best friend, Valdir, said as he came running over to me & I smiled.
