Telling Evelyn The Truth

I was looking at my paper with my locker information on it. I was just trying to get my locker open when I look up and Reese talking to his friends. I quickly looked away and opened my locker. That's when I heard a familiar voice. "Bestie you go here now?" I turned around and saw that it was Evelyn. "Yea, sorry I forgot to tell you yesterday when we were on the phone." "Oh no it's ok, I was just taken by surprise."

My bestie Evelyn is really sweet. I'm thinking about telling her what happened yesterday. Maybe I will do it after school. I wonder if she will put me on with him. She is known for bringing people together. I don't really know if I'm ready for a relationship tho.

"I can't keep this a secret anymore. Evelyn, I'm gonna tell you everything after school." I cannot believe I just said that. I deserve an award for that. I have never been that brave. "Ok girl, I see you found your confidence."

I was in first period and I couldn't stop looking at Reese. His curly hair, his smile, his voice, his eyes, his everything was just so perfect. "Evaughn I know it's your first day so I'm going to go easy on you. Please keep your eyes on the board." I nodded and then I heard that laugh. Reese's laugh.

That made my head spin. Did he just laugh at me? I will pay everything I have to hear that laugh again. It was beautiful.

When I got out of first period I went to my locker. That's when I saw a note from Reese. It said "Next time keep your eyes on the board. -Reese" my heart skipped a beat. I know that the note didn't say anything special, but it's the fact that he took time out of his day to write it for me.

I also had him for 4th which is the period we have lunch. After going through the lunch line I sat down at the table and then Evelyn came and sat next to me. "You're in this class?" I asked her. "Yea, I'm sitting here aren't I?"

"I guess so." Me and Evelyn started talking then I heard someone plump down in the seat next to me. I turned around and saw the most beautiful smile. "Hi there. You're name is Evaughn right?" My cheeks started burning again. "Uh yea, that's my name."

"Is that your boyfriend?" Evelyn called out from behind me. I turned to her my whole face red "No, we... we're just friends. Why would you ask that?" I said trying to calm down so I won't be red when I turn back to him. "Oh I'm sorry, I just thought that you guys were dating...y'know."

"I know but still no, were just friends." I turned to my plate of slop. "I'm making a lunch at home next time, that looks disgusting." Both Reese and Evelyn nodded in agreement.

The rest of the day went well. Mainly because I didn't see Reese at all. After school me and Evelyn met behind a tree on school campus. "So uh I had to tell you something. Something important. Promise you won't tell anyone?" "Promise."

"So you know that boy we were talking to at lunch?" Evelyn nodded. "So I uh...I don't know if I like him yet, but I think I so a little." Evelyn gasped in surprise. "For real?" She asked.

I nodded. I feel better than I did 20 seconds ago. I feel like I got something off my chest.
